but everyone knows letting the Tigers have the opening game is boring because they are always sh1t !

Why let the Tiges start the season cos they are always rubbish and never win anything. Why can't we have the premiers instead?

Richmond can open the season. Carlton should be nowhere ******* near it.

Come out and say it Lico.....you want the Mighty Tiger but are bored to distraction but the Blues.

I know I know but they'd sulk and cry and we better let them play us just to be nice.

I expect the AFL will go with something like this:
Carlton v Richmond - Thursday night, MCG

Collingwood v Adelaide - Friday night, MCG

Hawthorn v Fremantle - Saturday, MCG
Western Bulldogs v Gold Coast - Saturday twilight, Docklands
Brisbane v Greater Western Sydney - Saturday night, Gabba
West Coast v Essendon - Saturday night, Perth Stadium

Sydney v Geelong - Sunday early, SCG
Port Adelaide v Melbourne - Sunday, Adelaide Oval
St Kilda v North Melbourne - Sunday shitcan, Docklands

After adjusting a formula that I use for ground double-ups, ensuring one game in each of NSW,Qld, SA, WA, etc

Geelong v Greater Western Sydney - Friday night, Kardinia Park (7 nationally) : Kardinia Park (GWS should host but their ground will be unavailable due to the Easter Show, and a season opener at Manuka or any secondary venue seems a bit wrong)

Richmond v Adelaide - Saturday, MCG (7 nationally)
Western Bulldogs v St Kilda - Saturday, Docklands
Fremantle v Collingwood - Perth Stadium (7 WA)
Sydney v West Coast - Saturday night, SCG (7 Vic,SA,WA,NSW)
Brisbane v North Melbourne - Sunday, Gabba (7 Qld)

Melbourne v Hawthorn - Sunday, MCG
Port Adelaide v Essendon - Sunday, Adelaide Oval (7 Vic,SA,WA,NSW)
Carlton v Gold Coast - Shitcan, Docklands (7 Qld)

Why wouldn't they have a derby first up to open the new oval? Did that for the redevelopment of Adelaide Oval....

Even before we were ever a GF chance, I have always advocated for this. Start up where you left off with the ultimate grudge match.

I reckon they’ll keep the traditional start to the year. But give Carlton the home game. They’ll have Richmond v Adelaide in rd2

Would love the Bombers at the mcg in a home game for us, it will have been 8 years since we last played them in a home game.

That would be great first up, but I think we're playing you guys round 6 to minimise the issue of the ANZAC game falling midweek.

Hopefully we finally play you twice though

Melbourne are odds-on to get Collingwood and St Kilda twice IMO.
