FootySmartSimpson already said it. He absolutely was coasting to start the game off. He was better in that quarter, and I'm expecting him to be even better next quarter

Not too bad so far. Managed to get some control - hard to to defend when the ball comes in quickly, but when its not they are finding a lot of mismatches so we can see where we will be beaten.

Need more from our experienced players. Giants are cutting us up a bit and we're struggling in one on ones.

He seems very one-sided.

He and Laz might be worried if they don’t lift.

Considering their inexperience both Dawson and Pink have had some really good moments,

I think the defence as a unit is getting exposed because of Corr pushing up the ground on smaller types and not having an impact. It cost us multiple goals that quarter.

Need a lift defensively in the midfield and we need our half forwards in Ford, Stevo and Zurhaar to make the likes of Ash/Whitfield/Idun more accountable.

Considering how bad we were in the first ten minutes it’s good that we are still in this up to our eyeballs.

Pre season form warranted an opportunity. But the question was can he do it when the real stuff started. And based on that first half, it appears it can’t. One of his defensive efforts, or lack there of was highlighted on Fox. Not doing himself any favours.

Laz and Powell just ineffectual in the contest and don't have the decision making or athleticism to dispose of the ball under pressure and their tackling is not strong enough either

One of the main reasons we can’t win games?
They’ve scored from 17 of their 30 entries. Happens far too often where teams have more than 50% scoring shots from inside 50 entries. We have been in 24 times for 8 shots.

Dawson is clearly the answer to our KPD issues. Not sold on Pink at this stage, he's been fine but if Logue were available next week he'd probably be out.

Comben back in as a forward. Teaching him defense made sense but he's needed forward now.

This statline probably tells enough of the story. We're not composed enough (did improve) and keep giving them the ball at half forward where they just start swarming, and then our mids can't/don't pressure enough.

Marks are the biggest indicator. They have had twice as many for the whole game so far. Sticks out like dogs.

Glaring example for sure, as was one to fisher on the wrong side for him which led to a turnover as well. Just can't be doing that sort of s**t

The rebound and offensive run is working. We have very little defensive presence. Wardlaw has been ok but has been a couple of metres off it. Laz is small and it’s showing. Very little impact so far.
