Goal shooting percentages from Saturdays A grade netball final.

Broadford -

GS - 30 goals from 46 shots - 65%
GA - 7 goals from 11 shots - 63%

Macedon -

GS - 38 goals from 51 shots - 74%
GA - 9 goals from 22 shots - 40%

Congratulations to Macedon on their Victory & good luck next week in the big one.
BUT if you are to even be in with a chance next week against the all conquering Melton outfit, then you must urgently address the deficiency in your goal shooting percentage !
This major problem has glaringly gone on for two weeks now & was even worse when you had your pants pulled down by Melton last time you met.

Do something about the poor shot selection & decision making or just resign yourself to second place now !

might have something to do with the strong winds the past few matches.
would be interested in meltons shooting percentages from the last game at macedon.
im pretty sure earlier in the season i said melton were a very strong side, but its amazing that after the past 5 or so seasons of Macedon consistantly being one of the top 2 or 3 sides ,that no one really mentioned them as a chance of playing off against melton in the big one.

Goodluck to the cats

B Grade Netball

Thanks:) Looks like there will be some good games this weekend ;)

Are the grand finals usually that early? Looks like I'll be there all day lol. My tips:

Centrals beat Macedon (and everyone else) each time they met this year, by 14 and 11 and then in the second week of the finals by 8. Although they've managed to shorten the gap each time they need to shut down Bec (662 goals in a season is remarkable) and Tran if their to stand a chance. I'm tipping Centrals by 9 but wouldn't be surprised by an upset.

Diggers defeated Wallan both times during the season, first by 17 and then by 16. Wallan bounced back in the second week of the finals series beating Diggers by 6. Quite the turn around for the Magpies. Given the finals experience and quality of the Diggers side I would expect to see them get up this Sunday. Also believe they may have a couple of girls retiring which will provide extra incentive. I'm going with the Burra by 11.

Diggers and Broadford only met once during the season with Diggers getting over the line by 3 goals. During week one of the finals they met again with Diggers taking it out by 11 goals. I'm afraid it wont be the end to their first season Broadie are looking for. Diggers to be too strong and win by 6.

Looking forward to some cracking games this weekend and a successful season next year. Good luck to all teams!

Cgrade Broadford by 1
Bgrade Wallan by 1
Melton by 3
pls correct me if im wrong:thumbsu:

I didn't get there till C Grade was over but was told Broadie won by 3.
From what I saw, B and A, fantastic games.

Macedon led all day and had an eight goal lead in the third. Centrals scored the last 5 it ing down to 3 at the final change. Went pretty much goal for goal in the last qtr with Centrals pulling away by 3. Kelly Taylor, Macedon Centre, taking out the BOG for the second year running.

Diggers B Grade were shattered, but like Macedon, gracious is defeat.

Goal Shooting Percentages from Todays A Grade Netball Grand Final.

Melton

GS – 11 goals from 16 shots – 68%
GA – 32 goals from 43 shots – 74%

Macedon

GS – 28 goals from 33 shots – 84%
GA – 14 goals from 27 shots – 51%

Congratulations to Melton on a gutsy hard fought come from behind win today.
Macedon had the game well & truly in the bag leading by as much as 9 goals late in the third quarter. Then inexplicably the Cats started making numerous mid-court errors, leading to telling turnovers which ultimately let Melton back into the contest.
Bec Pereira who had been struggling under the ring started to lift her work rate & shooting percentage & Macedon could not seem to retain possession through the mid-court to get it down to their shooter Bec White who had been dominating the game & was clearly the best on court & the diference between the two sides up until then. If the Cats did not throw the ball away in costly mid-court turn overs & also passed the ball over to White instead of taking low percentage shots, then they may well indeed have pulled off the upset they so desperately sought today…….. but they didn’t !

For mine, I would have given best on court to Bec Pereira, who fought her way back from an indifferent start in the game & stood up to be counted when she was needed & nailed the pressure shots which gave her team the Victory.

You mean triple premeirship team Riddell dont you??;) your kiddin youself, melton aint done jack s@#t till they at least hold the cup up in september. Stats dont lie do they? Lets see how they finish the season first before we make comments as silly as that!!

So have Central still done "Jack s@#t ????? They are now holding the cup up in September and I think they finished the season WITHOUT dropping a game including finals so well done to them.:) and as you said STATS don't lie !!!.

The standard of all 3 games yesterday was very high and enjoyable to watch / play.:thumbsu:

Well done to Centrals:thumbsu:

Your team has truely been one of the best teams I have seen for a long time! Your team is not full of individuals (playing for themselves), but an actual team whom I have never heard or seen put each other down nor show vindictive behaviour to other teams. You all have carried yourselves well throughout the whole season and to take out the premiership is fantastic.

BFL has missed a side like yours this year, clean, fair and talented.

Once again, well done you all deserve it! :D:thumbsu::thumbsu:

Of course your entitled to your opinion, but shows how much you obviously know about the game!! A premiership first before comparisons are even thought about i would think. ( Out of interest how many from last years Melton side are actually playing this year?? Actually getting on the court?? )

you're right what would i know:rolleyes:

Couldnt of said it better myself:thumbsu::thumbsu: really good to have a new bunch of girls come in and make our league better and be a great team to play against....

Congratulations to the centrals girls. Now they have done something. Premeirships arent won in June are they!! Only 2 more to go to be compared!!
I suppose if you want something, money can buy happiness. $100 a game each, they should be winning when the majority of sides dont pay a cent.

Quick one... any other side gone undefeated in a season?
After this year, they all may get $200 a game and a holiday pad on the beach! ;)

Well done to the Centrals, Wallan and Broadford girls on their premierships. Also congratulations to all the girls accross the league for being part of a great RDFL/RDNL season. Hopefully you'll all be back next year for an even bigger spectacle.:thumbsu:

This sounds like a sore loser and a whinger, get over it they did win. it was tough but the best side won on the day Macedon had it in their hands but throw it away ,Centrals as you know never give up and as for getting payed you should get your facts correct before you make statements like this.

Given i have never played for an RDFL netball side, not sure how im a sore loser?? Pretty sure i congratulated centrals in my previous reply!! Not exactly sure how you want it proved, but coming straight from players mouth's is a fairly good start!! Didnt think it was such a big secret anyway??

Funny, I know one of the senior netballers very well (and the rest of them pretty well) and they never mentioned ever getting any money to play netball!! I've been around footy/netball clubs for a while and you would have to be kidding yourself if you think a club would be willing to pay out $700 a week on 1 netball team (+ all the fees and expenses it takes to get all the sides out there in the first place). I could be wrong.
Just because a side can come in and be successfull doesn't have to mean they are getting paid to be there. I would have thought that a paid side that were 8 or 9 goals down with not much time to go would not be too concerned with going down as long as they were still gettting the cash. Instead they dug deep for the win. More like signs of a determined team that enjoy playing netball together and desperately wanting to win.

I have to agree with you. I could not see too many clubs paying out $700 a week to have girls play netball  but how nice would it be :) I might even take the game up myself ! I would say most of the girls in all clubs play for friendship/enjoyment etc.
