Your still to embarrassed to tell us which club your from, you must have copped some awful hidings from Gisborne in the past to be so bitter towards me and the Gisborne FC.

Because you couldnt find a single post were i bagged the RDFL, it makes sense for you to suggest i'm running an alias. Gee you struggle.

Probably time for you to stop posting drivel and maybe grow up.

Good win by the Kangas on the weekend, good to just recapture the form how we started the year! Inaccurate kicking kept Kilmore in it till half way through third quarter! The pace of the game was exceptional! Alot of old players and players from the club returning for the 21st birthday and the team of the decade's, were impressed with what they saw and even commented about how high the standard has increased compared to where the play now!

Kilmore have some good signs with their young brigade, and anyone that doubted Matt Robertson during the week, can get on ya bike, he inspired Kilmore right till the end, under injury!

well done on a great win TBR. how did helmers play?
Who were the standout players for the kanga's??

Roos finding some form... Excellent team game played on Saturday and giving the side some confidence heading into the Hawks game...

Votes IMO for the game

3 - Leigh McInerney (SK)
2 - Daniel Bonnici (SK)
1 - Tristan Salter (Kil)

Perhaps the hanger of the year taken by young Collis on the weekend! Huge flight over a massive pack.

All 22 players were excellent contributors on Saturday, on ball brigade was awesome. Matt Reifel making an excellent senior debut, with an outstanding third quarter.

Helmers was his usual self, some instrumental passages of play, and his physical pressure around the ground was excellent!

Hey pickles or anybody any mathch reviews from the weekend ? Diggers and Romsey can give it a shake

Yes very good win by the diggers boys on the weekend , never felt that they were done and dusted. Woodend started on fire and showed why they sit second of the ladder , big difference was the big body of Sirpthorpe in the middle - Equal on influence with robertson from Kimore i believe but seems to be carrying an injury . Diggers backline led by janner and Underwood did a fanastic job on the small but very pacy forward line of the hawks. After half time jose started to get his hand on the ball and some of the things he was doing was unbelievable. to think this guy is a ruckman. Anyway the much maligned C.Payne stood up when the game needed to be won and showed that he can still be a important part of this team although some people have written him off.. Woodend still very impressive and if and when Sipthorpe (no17) plays at 100% they will be even stronger... Great game to watch....

DIGGERS Rest all but sealed its spot in the finals on Saturday by producing a come from behind win against Woodend-Hesket.
The Burra were stretched for much of the day against the Hawks, trailing by 29 points at three-quarter-time.
But a barnstorming six-goal final term saw the home side rally, with Woodend-Hesket unable to score against a howling wind at Diggers Rest.
Ruckman Jeremy Jose was the Burra’s best, with Ryan Underwood and Steve Ruane also solid performers.
Inspirational captain Shaun Sims kicked three goals for Diggers Rest, with Matt Walker’s two the only other multiple goalkicker.
Guy Donovan was brilliant for Woodend-Hesket, along with young ruckman Matt Stacey in his first game for a month after suffering a hamstring injury.
Other contributors for the Hawks were Brendan Fennell, Adam Morton and Rick Dowling, who snared two goals.

Kilmore’s
finals aspirations took a plummeted at Boardman Reserve on Saturday when they were given a football lesson by Sunbury Kangaroos.
Against a full strength Roos outfit, the Blues were outclassed in almost every aspect.
Leigh McInerney was his damaging best at the stoppages, reaping the benefits of some sound ruckwork from Steve James and fellow on-baller Daniel Bonnici.
Mark McInerney had a daunting task in keeping Blues captain Matt Robertson quiet, and did so with distinction.
Kilmore went into the match without a number of key players through injury.
Dave Cornish (groin), Adam Moedt (ribs), Adam Goudge (ankle), Ben Newham (ankle) were the main men missing.
Against the odds, Kilmore led at quarter time by three points. At the main break they were just eight points behind.
After that it got ugly for the visitors.
The Kangaroos’ midfield dominance started to take its toll with the McInerney brothers taking control of the game.
If not for the Roos’ inaccuracy in front of goal, the Blues would have been staring at a 100-point plus loss.
A team effort around goals saw Sunbury share the majors, while Kilmore barely fired a shot in the final two terms.
Tristan Salter was the Blues’ best with two goals, while Justin Colliss, Jason King and Damien Barton were also serviceable.
+++
Romsey
kicked an appalling 1.14 in the final term to end up with a 41-point win against Rockbank.
In extremely windy conditions at Ian Cowie Reserve, the Redbacks should have won by much more.
The match was evenly poised at quarter time with both sides enjoying the free flowing contest.
However, a seven goal second term saw the Redbacks advance to a 42-point lead at the main break.
To the Rams’ credit, they brought a game plan with them and stuck to it, which saw the Rams win the second half by a point.
While Romsey still won easily, forwards will no doubt be practicing goal kicking this week, finishing the game with 14.25 on the board.
Conditions didn’t help forwards in front of goals, but there can be no excuse for such inaccuracy.
Ruckman Ryan Connellan was the Redbacks’ best along with Dave Keenan and Matt McLellan.
For Rockbank, Dave Lambert and Rob Shirley were the key contributors.
+++
Ten goals
between dynamic duo Scott Smithwick and Chris Collins paved the way for a comprehensive Lancefield victory on Saturday.
At home, the Tigers were far too good for the injury depleted Macedon.
A lacklustre first term in excellent football conditions saw just two goals kicked in the quarter, giving Lancefield an 11-point lead at the first break.
In the second term the Tigers ran riot to dispatch Macedon’s youngsters and seal Lancefield’s fourth win of the season.
Smithwick and Collins both played deep in attack, with Collins struggling with knee and back soreness after carrying the Tigers’ midfield for much of the season.
Despite Macedon’s best intentions this pair was unstoppable, with Smithwick finishing with six majors and Collins four.
The game was won and lost in the centre though.
Phil Conway dominated in the ruck and gave on-ballers Jay Shewan and Nathan Milner every opportunity to send the ball forward.
Jay Tully is getting better with each game he plays, enjoying an injury free run for the first time in a couple of years.
Jay Parry, Nick Stone and Mark Paine were all serviceable for the Cats, but had little support from their usual key contributors.
By half time the Tigers led by 42 points, a break that the home side wasn’t going to let slip.
Lancefield continued to build on their lead, eventually finishing with a 70-point advantage.
+++
Riddell
made light work of Melton Central at MacPherson Park on Saturday, cruising to a 73-point win.
In a team effort, Matt Shaughnessy was the Bombers’ best player; his two goals sealed the honour.
Aaron Blade, Leigh Coles, Justin Belleville and Nathan Allen were also brilliant for the visitors.
It was a 7.5 to 1.4 second term that set the game up for Riddell as just 12 point separated the two sides at quarter time.
After the Bombers’ brilliant display before the main break there was no coming back for Centrals.
Glen Nankervis and Brian Wheelahan were Melton’s best.
Mick Allen made some inroads into Dave Cornish’s bid for the RDFL goalkicking award with five majors for the Bombers.
Cornish, who missed Saturday’s game for Kilmore, leads by just seven goals over Allen.

Interesteing reading over the last week regarding the future of the RDFL
Having been involved since mid 70's I have seen the best and the worst, and we are definitely improving each and every year.
The Diggers Woodend game on Saturday showed everything our great game is about in all 3 grades and the netball and I look forward to the finals, some great games coming up.
There is no reason why we should try and attract clubs back to us, unless we can attract 10 clubs and make a new competition. There are some real rivalries developing and it would be a tragedy if we destroyed what has been developed simply for the pride of getting bigger.
In addition, the RDFL is possibly the oldest league still keeping its original name and history does mean a lot to us older blokes.

I believe the VCFL and Football Victoria will fight to keep the Bendigo and Ballarat leagues viable and thus prevent any possible movements for some reason they still see them as premier competitions.

However, should attract enough interst to create a new competition we would need :
Employ additional staff to manage
Lease or purchase new office facilities
Create a League "Home Ground"

If this all happened possible league structures
NORTH WEST LEAGUE
Sunbury
Melton
Melton South
Darley
Bacchus Marsh
Gisborne
Kyneton
Wallan
2 of Broadford, Craigieburn or Riddell

RDFL
Diggers Rest
Rockbank
Romsey
Lancefield
Woodend Hesket
Macedon
Sunbury Kangaroos
Trentham
Melton Centrals
Kilmore

In my opinion, if this is not possible, lets keep the RDFL as it is and keep working as we all are to improve the standard of players, club administrations and the league.

A very good summary there. Everybody that is involved within this league knows what the standard of the league is and where it could be.
Lots of RDFL followers now spruik about how it is improving rapidly. Is there anything more the league could do itself to promote it. A few of years ago DVFL promoted it's comp by televising a replay of some games on channel 31 on a sunday.
If we were to tape the match of the rounds and best games to promote our league we could then put a highlights package together and televise once a month or so. AFL victoria could work with this for different metro leagues every week a different comp.
The league should be proud of what we have now, Do we really need 2 divisions?
