You do realise blues12 the only reason the kangaroos survived early in the season, and continued to pull of big wins was that it was early in the season!!! Injuries and general soreness do not take their toll until the later half of the year. Therefore now is the time where we may see the demise of senior competitors with poor reserves sides ie kangaroos and romsey.

Don't get me wrong, if you can continue to pull off these wins i take my hat of to you, but without the depth throught he entire senior football club i cannot see it happening.

Personally i believe the roos hava lots of depth, the loss of that ruckman hasnt really impacted by the looks of things with cam watson doing his job well... also i believe their depth was good early in the season, and when you add two players mid season such as Jamsey and Ricky Scott i tend to believe there doing alright for themselves considering the names theyve still got on the sidelines but i guess the next 2 weeks will tell...

We have our injuries, but out of the guys injured there might be 2 that are more than 2 week injuries, plus the depth of say 6 -8 blokes in the twos and our 18's that could easily come up and play seniors.

It may not reflect the quality of players in our 2's and 18's but they're are still some high quailty players that week in week out push for top spot's. I don't know the situation Romsey are in but i am guessing this is the case. To get done to the top side with 4 top players out and finish with 14 fit players, i believe we did ok. As did Diggers with their injury problems, they were the better side though.

Who are these 6-8 blokes in the twos that can play ones that you refer to as from saturdays side id find it hard to pick 2-3 blokes from the twos. i will grant you that you do seem to have a few injuries out of your seniors but i think its fair to say alot of top teams (ie romsey, diggers) also do , so it all evens itself out. I was somewhat shocked to see how much the kangas 2nds have dropped off as after round 4 i had them as montys to win the 2nds flag this year.. Big call i know

They're are a couple that i refer to that didn't play at all on weekend. It's not big matter just stating that Kangas do have depth throughout the 2's and 18's alhtough it might be limited, hey are they're to fall back on. Remember that our 18's have a top 5 group then its our middle tier of players that we lack. We have only played two 18's all year, so it could be something Jarrod looks at who knows. Can we get a break down of how many players have played this year eg: (only seniors though)

Total players played 1's
Number players avaliable to choose fromm 1' and 2's
New players
18's
Last year 1's playing 1's this year
Oldest player
youngest player
average age

Someone has down his research :)

Surf was unbelievable on the central coast, but great to be back in the thick of things on bigfooty. You have no idea how addictive it becomes!!!

Big finish to the season for all teams in the sunbury area, great to see!

Just think the 2's have had problems finding a settled side.. ATM there has been anywhere up to ten changes per week, the lowest being 5... Thats alot of changes each week to try and establish a settled side.. I think that the 2's will improve over the next 2 or 3 weeks before establishing a settled side for finals... Dont write them off yet.... :thumbsu:

With the amount of money Riddell are spending on players again this year , does anyone think the pressure will be starting to build on high profile coach Darrin Rowsell if they drop this weeks game , i believe Riddell are absolutely desperate for top spot and a loss this week could see them drop to as low as 5th , surely with the players he has at his disposal anything less than a premiership this year would be very , very disapointing for all involved with this proud club . Something that he may have to look at is strengthening his on ball brigade , maybe by promoting up & coming star Luke [Boonga] Mckaskill, which will add some speed and hardness around the stoppages , something in which they have probably lacked a little this year .Are there any other Riddell supporters out there that would agree with these comments ?

Think the Bombers may have covered any deficiencies around the stoppages with thier recruit stepping in last week for his first game.. If Mick Gadsden gets going, you can forget about anyone else in this league getting anywhere near him....

Pretty sure he won the bog medal in an Oak Park grand final early 2000's

if switched on mentally will be a major asset to riddell can play in multiple positions and can be very damaging up forward kicking goals or providing run off the half back line with very long and precise kicking. A great pick up for Riddell

Hawks by 6-7 goals over centrals!

Kilmore knocking off Romsey has made things interesting.... how huge is Sunbury vs Kilmore this week.... and looking at Riddells run id say the 3rd spot on the ladder is up for grabs between the 4 sides left.... WH,SUN,ROMS,KIL.... id say after today Riddell would have 2nd spot and Diggers wont loose 1st with their run home.... an interesting couple of weeks to come...

Well done to Scooter Rowsell and his troops , huge win over ladder leaders Diggers , puts to rest any doubts i had about this bloke being able to coach at this level . I think he is worth every cent he gets [apparently big money] . he may have to take my advice and promote young gun Luke [boonga] Mcaskill , after the suspension of Mick Gadsden this week . Speaking to a couple of Riddell supporters yesterday they thought Diggers where pretty soft on the weekend , anyone at the game care to comment ?

Some big games coming up this week:
Sunbury vs Kilmore
Woodend vs Diggers

A must win for all sides to stay competitive in the finals mix. The burra must now travel upto woodend after a tough loss at home (i think it's safe to say their result on the weekend was somewhat unexpected).

Kilmore will look at beating the roos to push for a finals campaign. However knocking off these boys at home will be a fair effort!

Its make or break time for teams this week, Sunbury are strenghtened with returns of James, Ellis, McInereny. Thats half of the Roos spine. A CHB a centre and FF, a tough ask for Kilmore and Woodend to i believe at home to strong for Diggers, after two tough weeks.

Terrible rule. Send them off or pay free kicks but to miss 2 weeks is a disgrace.

Will prob get in trouble for this, but the umpiring in the RDFL this year has left alot to be desired... It has been very disappointing.. These players are missing games after getting reported, they are giving the umps a bit of lip, thats all, its not like they are running around belting blokes.. We are missing the opportunity of seeing very good footballers playing because of some ego's I reckon.. Some of these decisions are a little misplaced these days...
We will be heading back to the days of all in brawls soon, mostly due to the frustration of players who are on the receiving end of such inconsistency that they lose the plot.. It needs to be sorted out soon, or quality footballers will leave the comp again, and it will again become way too difficult to recruit them too... It needs to be cleaned up...:thumbsu:
