There’s one campaigner that’s currently so (in)famous he’s constantly in the news for several different things at a time, and he’s so (in)famous I don’t even need to mention his name and you’ll know who I’m talking about.

Look I know the greatest guitarist to ever lived sadly just passed but it’s not his most famous song ….Genghis Khan would have to rate a mention.
I have only just become familiar with this term just now. As a young man with blonde hair and blue eyes who took ATAR modern history, I’m very well versed in itTxbyhull starts a new topic and it takes literally one post to invoke Godwin's Law.

In order of mention we had Michael Jackson, Hitler, Messi, Ronaldo, Virat Kohli and then proceeded to change topic to most popular / goat / face of sport. This comes down to a question of how you define fame.
Can Jesus be described as famous because so many people know his name, despite having no living connection to him? If that's the case, then any number of historical figures have an advantage in the fame stakes over living individuals, simply because people in their time knew them, as well as people who have existed ever since.
Kylie or Kidman. Jackman or Ledger.Steve Irwin? Or would he be the most famous Aussie
That’s the thing, obviously it’s hyperbolic, but I’ve heard people say that MJ at his peak was more popular than any pope, president etcDalai Lama?
I've gotta assume religion or politics would trump music![]()

Popularity is different to fame .That’s the thing, obviously it’s hyperbolic, but I’ve heard people say that MJ at his peak was more popular than any pope, president etc
I’d think Steve would be most synonymous with Australian stereotype and culture, but the most popular person who happens to be Australian could very well be Hugh Jackman.Kylie or Kidman. Jackman or Ledger.
Dame Edna?
All fair calls but I feel like non were as universally loved as much as Steve (perhaps Ledger)Kylie or Kidman. Jackman or Ledger.
Dame Edna?
I don't remember celebrities death at all, except for Ledgers and Irwin's (and of course Princess Di)All fair calls but I feel like non were as universally loved as much as Steve (perhaps Ledger)
Steve Irwin was an animal harrassing clown. Fortunately his kids seem to have avoided those stupid antics and focused on the conservation work. All fair calls but I feel like non were as universally loved as much as Steve (perhaps Ledger)
