The whole article is trying to push the idea that this culture is still prevalent around the club. Or at least, that's what I take from it. Would we trade the 06 flag for a clean culture? No, reason being that even if we hadn't won the flag in 06, the core players of that time would have done the exact same thing. Being premiership players seems to raise their societal importance to some people. Would anyone care if they weren't premiership players? (besides Journos and WC supporters)? Does anyone actually care as it is? I don't see a problem with going out, partying and enjoying life a bit, as long as it doesn't affect the guys come game time. Which it didn't in this case.

This article and viewpoint has been pushed so many damn times. Yes Eagles players were using party drugs, so does a fair majority of 18-20 something year olds that party. Sure using illicit drugs isn't good, but they didn't effect on field performances like Essendon 2012 with their supplements. So I don't see how 06 can be labelled as a "tainted flag".

London...not cheap, but they've got a shedload of worthwhile touristy places to gawk at. Could easily spend a day or two just wandering. Tube is also v reliable for transport.
