this is going back awhile but in the super draft of 01, who were freo originally pursueing or were they always going to get croad and mcpharlin and trade with hawthorn? were they after hodge ball or judd?

We traded picks 1, 20 and 36 for McPharlin and Croad.
We were committed to selecting Polak with the number one pick, who would be a very good player if we had a decent coach. It would have been interesting if we had retained that pick and taken one of the Lukes because neither were keen to move West.

I remember hearing that they would have taken Polak with pick 1 and expected West Coast to take him at 3 when Hodge and Ball went 1 & 2. Had WC taken Polak, Freo would have taken Sampi.

St. Kilda might have got Judd at 5!
