Reading this Powell??

“I’ve tried everything to get myself right and the club has been good to me.”

I believe we did the same to you, yet you couldn't be as loyal. Good to see the Saints are rapt to have a player who can barely run, can't kick more than 40 metres and who's as loyal as a 5 year old.

I hope you get OP this year Powell. You deserve it.

dems fighting words :p but nah the club has been great with Riggers. and its good to see him back. the same thing happened with Stephen Tingay he has said the club didnt do things right......but there ya go...i just think in Powellys case its sour grapes.

well truly the guy ain't a true blue demon, he was a dog before that sooo... one could forgive having no loyalty.. :)

Tingay is then a bit of an idiot. After all those injuries he had, he barely played 30 games in about 6 seasons, yet we kept him on the list and helped him recover. Eventually, we knew his time was up and we dropped him off the list. If that's the wrong way of doing it, then I like Collingwood.

With Powell, I wouldn't be making such a fuss if we didn't do things right. But we did. He was just a dis-loyal prick, and he will get his someday.

true... but i guess its still a shame! i think the worst part is that we kept him on AND paid him during his whole injury thingy, yet he's still up and left us!

lol, exactly!! we paid him all his money! and for what? to sit on his arse and get better, then to have a so-so season and then ditch us!! something wrong somewhere!!

But now Powell has to suffer the greatest indignity of all, mixing with St. Kilda fans.

He'll run away from Moorabbin the first time a toothless old lady bails him up in the corridor and offers sexual favors.

Touch harsh, he could kick 50-55m goals on the run.

Yeah it would be rather humerous if he gets OP again this year.
But I do think we are being a little harsh on him... because after all, there are two sides to every story, and we don't know his side. I'm not defending him by any stretch of the imagination, but just don't like to see people get bagged when we don't know EXACTLY what happened.

Ahh who am I kidding... F@#! you Stephen Powell.

Bloody oath mate. Here is the real interview....

Doran: "So Stephen, you have shown to be dis-loyal to the MFC by jumping ship to an already sinking one in St. Kilda, can you give us your thoughts on that??"

Powell: "Don't care Mark. It's really all about the almighty dollar for me. St. Kilda offered me a bit more money, and even though they are w*nkers down at Morrabin, I couldn't resist.

Doran: "So how is the OP really going? None of this "I feel good" stuff please, we are not stupid."

Powell: "It's no good really. St. Kilda are offering me far too much money, but shhhh, don't tell them. I really can't run anymore, my body can't take many hits, I cant' kick more than 40 metres unless there is a gale behind me and I'm injury prone."

Doran: "Well, looks as though Melbourne won this war. Mark Doran, Seven Nightly News."

Come on folks. Get real. Powell is now past history. Whatever you may think of him, leave this alone and concentrate on those who want to play for us. Like Riggers and co. and including Michael Clark... yes Michael Clark ... he is a true Demon. His father played for the club and he wants to make it at Melbourne too.

Are you asking me to concentrate on Michael Clark playing for the club?

You need some help.

true, but its a little hard to concerntrate on a player thats done **** all for the club in the past 3 years.

i saw powell on the telly the other day and i actually got all fired up and angry at him! never felt like that over a player before, but it really ****ted me that he had the guts to just up and leave after all we'd done for him!

Cowboy - you missed my point.

We should be concentrating on our own players. Forget about Powell. He's now a St. Kilda player. And yes - if we are Melbourne supporters, we should be giving all of our players a go including the ones you don't happen to like. If Clark or any other player is not good enough to make the Melbourne team then they won't be selected. I'm prepared to leave that decision in the hands of Neale Daniher and the football department rather than your good self.

Fair enough, I understand that.

My point Re: Clark, is the fact that we re-drafted him. Clark hasn't been good enough for three years. We finally realise that the guy is a complete dud, de-list him like we should, then re-draft him. What in the world is with that??

You tell me.

Michael Clark is now on the rookie list...he was on the senior list. He would be on far less pay now and he's no sure thing to play senior footy in 2003 either. Obviously the club decided that he wasn't worth a spot on the senior list, however they decided to persist with him as a rookie. We can't just take someone from the senior list and out them onto the rookie list - it had to be done the redrafting way.

Yes, true, but my point is that he shouldn't even be on the rookie list to begin with. Where is Brad Flower? Handby?
