In Saturdays paper,Denis tells us how we all enjoy being negative about our side, he talked up all the postives.
Forward 24 hrs after being flogged "Were not as bad as that" he tells us.

Hello reality ,we are that bad, thats why we finished last. Most of the players have a loser mentality, its become habit and there arent many signs of players trying to arrest the situation.
We lack quality and the worst part of it is, those with quality and potential will be swallowed up by mediocrity.

Do yourself a favour, go down to Sportsbet and back us to win the spoon, then at the end of the season we can all go out get drunk with our winnings and wonder where it all went wrong.

I don't enjoy being negative about the side, quite the opposite usually. But when the side are bashing you about the head with negative performances, a little of it sticks to you. I have to have a shower and use some pretty strong shampoo to wash off what they have been throwing at me.

No more rhetoric, tell us what our plan is, onfield and off field. No more 'it will take longer than we first though' announcements, no more 'it will take a long time' statements with no set timeframe in mind. That just protects jobs.

I have seen some fans saying that we can't be throwing young players to the wolves, yet other clubs are playing their youngsters with some success. Sure our youngsters don't have a lot of support from older players but they can still have an impact. Kennedy for example is chomping at the bit trying to get on to the park. We held Waite back for one year then he came out looking like a great prospect, so we all embraced the idea and leave our youngsters in the ants for a season. Fact is, some youngsters are AFL ready and their enthusiasm is needed.

I went out to PP yesterday and what Carlton dished up was just awful. Our field kicking was terrible, there was little manning up on Ports players, we could not take a mark inside 50 and so on.

Football is all about doing the basic things well, and Carlton do not do them well at all. It was very disheartening to walk out of PP fearing that 2006 is going to be no better than 2005.
