I would say the signature of the Tour De France is a bunch sprint and the guy raising his arms over the line or the champagne promenade down Champs Elysee.

Surely it's those steep slopes on the Alp d'Huez (sp?).

Football/soccer - a 40 yard screamer which dips and curls in the air, leaving the keeper stranded.

Surfing/bodyboarding - coming out of a monster after all hope was lost.

Tennis: One-handed backhand down the line. See Federer, Gasquet, Kohl, etc. Simply awesome.

IN cricket i love any pic showing a fielder about to take a catch with teammates holding their breath waiting for him to take it.
Basketball - any pic of MJ.

Darts - zoomed in on triple 20 or slow motion dart flying through air with mulleted gentleman in the background and drunks behind them.. everyone waiting for, "One hundred and EIIIIGGHTYYYY!!!"

Thought this was a pretty amazing putt.

Actual Putt at about 30 secs.

If you wanted a single shot to capture the essence of golf, it would have to be Tiger's chip at the 2005 Masters or Tom Watson at the 1982 Masters. Last round (second last hole for Watson when he was tied for the lead and facing a bogey) in the biggest Major, the stakes don't get any higher. Larry Mize's shot chip to sink Norman was just as good, but he isn't one of the greats so these would be my top two.

To be fair to myself, that putt was like the only 20 seconds of golf I have ever watched :P

The Tiger chip was ****ing amazing though. Wow.
