Ashley McIntosh's dad?
That's correct. I omitted the fact he is Ashley's father.

Ashley McIntosh's dad?
Yes that's right.
Although he was Saints player, I really admired him as he a very skilled player and he was really mobile for a big man and IIRC
he had his career cut short in Vic. with a serious knee injury.
Interesting - I had him as the oldest living Hawk remaining... any idea who's supposed to be the oldest living Hawk?Peter Haby from Hawthorn FC has advised Kevin Hevey has died on Saturday October 16 aged 98
There will be no family announcement. He was 2nd oldest living Hawks player.
Checking this, it has two people born before him (both in 1914) and without a DOD (Alf Neeson and Max Smethurst). The Wikipedia page for Alf Neeson doesn't have a DOD (though it has to be highly likely he isn't still going), while for Max Smethurst it does have one:Interesting - I had him as the oldest living Hawk remaining... any idea who's supposed to be the oldest living Hawk?
Very nice article. Are you planning a similar article for Ray Allsopp? Or will the AFL website write it, given his work with VicKick/Auskick? Or even add his DoD to TigerlandArchive?Richmond's Dave Cuzens has died.
Vale Dave Cuzens
Richmond is mourning the passing of Dave Cuzens, the West Australian defender who won back-to-back senior Best and Fairests.www.richmondfc.com.au

Thanks. That article says his birthday was 30 April 1923. All the AFL references have 5 April 1923.View attachment 1267054The club loses its oldest Hawk

Interesting! This is in the Army records (there's no "paperwork" with it, but I'm not sure why he'd change his DOB by just a few days in this case!):Thanks. That article says his birthday was 30 April 1923. All the AFL references have 5 April 1923.
Just checked on Ancestry. At least one tree uses 30 April 1923 and 16 Oct 2021 as lifespan dates.Interesting! This is in the Army records (there's no "paperwork" with it, but I'm not sure why he'd change his DOB by just a few days in this case!):

It does seem pretty likely the AFL records aren't correct!
The Hawks had the same DOB a few years back: https://www.hawthornfc.com.au/news/720858/old-hawthorn-families-visit-museum

It looks like South's Peter Ryan passed away a few weeks ago, DoB is a match:I've made lists for each of the old clubs from WikiData.
For Hawthorn, only the mysterious Neeson is older than Hevey
I'm hearing Vic Naismith has also died, details should be in paper in next day or so.
