I have a smart tv LG i want to record on it with a usb stick for some reason it just wont work any ideas?

Is there an option to format the stick in the TV menu?
Have you got it formatted as Fat32 or NTFS?
Does the TV recognise it?
How many GB is it?

sorted it out it had to be a large stick I think over 80 g i put my 1tb hdd in all good now

Had the exact same issue. Need to get a fairly big USB (I bought a hard drive) for it to work. Don't quote me on exactly how big but I think 100GB does the trick, there's a ridiculous minimum size for some reason.

Make sure you don't use a hard drive/USB that you use for other things, as I'm fairly sure the TV formats it so that it can only be used by the TV (although you should be able to revert this, it's just you'll lose your recorded TV).

That was the issue with mine anyway, from memory the message coming up was something about the usb is not DVR or some bullshit. My 250GB hard drive has probably got over 24 hours of recordings on it, if you want a gauge for what size to buy.
