Did anyone else notice in Chanel 7's The Chosen Ones when they showed Mick addressing the playing group mid training, Mitch Robinson was standing on the side fidgeting and looking like he was barely paying attention?

I reckon that two seconds of footage sums up why he'll struggle to find another club as much as his off-field issues.

The reality, unfortunately for Robinson, is that he's more than good enough to play regularly in any team, he's just uncoachable.

Ken can control him.We are the discipline club.

He is a fundamentally flawed individual. It's not something a good culture and good coach can change.

If we didn't have Moore, Young, Newton & Colquhoun as developing mids I wouldn't have minded Robbo but that ship sailed long before the last fight he was involved in, he's had too many chances to get his crap together to be worth the hassle when the upside isn't anywhere near enough to be in our best 30 players.

We're at the stage of not needing to rely on giving lifelines to damaged goods players when there are so many other deserving players (some even contracted) that'd love the opportunity to be on our senior list.

Could we be so bold as to offer Melb half a bag of peanuts for Trengove in the hope that he comes good? A risk, but potentially huge payoff. eg. third rnd pick. Give him a year to get better with Burgess et all calling the shots. He'll never be cheaper.
That lack of respect is pathetic. You don't lose talent you just get injured.

mmmm...not sure about that. Form can be fleeting. He was playing awfully before any injuries crept into the equation.

Talent, maybe shouldn't have gone #2 pick but that's not his fault, played his whole AFL career so far in a terrible development environment at an awfully performing club, and played through the pain of what was eventually diagnosed as an infamously career-ending, hard to treat injury (navicular bone in the foot).

"Bag of peanuts" from us is about the huge risk with that particular type of injury, not lack of respect. I think I heard trade radio suggest he may not play most of 2015, fairly serious **** for him. If Melbourne have any balls they'll keep him on for one more year out of respect to a captain and take the upside if he recovers. If Melbourne want to take a bag of peanuts now, that's them disrespecting him (or the medical folks really don't think he's coming back).

Exactly!

Wait, people are actually still talking about getting Trengove?

I am in disbelief.

I think people are only talking of perhaps getting on our list with very little cost.
They guy is injured and it would be a gamble - one that I would take if the price was right (2nd round pick)

Not sure what I was thinking .Same Town as his mate Eddie Betts wouldn't be good either.
A big pass one thinks.

Trengrove and Scully were in a league of their own predraft. Every single club would have done the same if they had picks 1 and 2. Melbournes development is poo, nothing more. Scully might be a flop. Trengrove is a gun, injuries have crushed him.
