Would anyone be against getting Waite?? out of contract and a FA if we picked him up on say a cheap 2-3 year deal it would give us a little more time to develop Shaw and Butcher/Harvey, itll cost us nothing and will give Schulzy some support up forward.

I know he 30 but it;ll be a huge help up forward, I can tell hes still got a couple more years by the way he played on he weekend

My worry would be 1 major injury at his age and he's toast

After watching the Collingwood game again, we need someone and now . even for a couple years. Our forward line is done right SHIT! and shuffling of short people through there isnt and wont help. i was against waite... now id take him for a year or 2!

He is very athletic for a 30 year old too and he can catch and kick.
We could do a lot worse for sure.

We can get him for nothing, get him on a 2 year deal wit an option for a 3rd if he plays so many games?? we need someone and we need them now.

Yep trade our first rounder for Lycett, with a swap of 3rd and 4th rounders in our favour.

edit: At this point if we somehow miss the finals our 2nd rounder could be enough (late 20's)

Shaw should be ready next year with another pre-season under his belt, we need to get a depth forward, as i said i don't follow the lists of other clubs too closely..... i'd like hear some folks with more knowledge as to who's a viable option.

I rate him in the mid 20's. Maybe late 20's might be slight unders. Perhaps a swap of late picks in their favour could do it.
Haven't heard anything about him NOT wanting to play here yet.

With waite being 32 it is just a bad idea full stop. We are better off targeting Lycett and having either him or Redden play the second ruck/fwd position. Maybe Shaw will be ready next year. That would give us three options.
