Very disappointing batting display so far by our boys. Some horrid shots to get out by the last few batsmen
For the batting side of things it’s very lucky Sir Garfield Manenti has turned up today.
That said interesting how you balance up that selection decision by the SA management as if Queensland find themselves 2 for 200 in their 2nd innings and you’ve already seen Swepson turning it lots on day one and the team’s crying out for Pope how the runs vs wickets debate will continue.

Manenti super late in the day, shouldn’t have been needed but those sort of rescue act innings are what puts you in a position to at least not lose a Shield Final. Him, Lehmann and McAndrew probably still need to put on another 100 tomorrow as you can’t imagine Queensland will bat as poorly on a flattening pitch as they did today.

That’s the exact point. The game shouldn’t be even in question after rolling them for 95 on a wicket that did quite a bit this morning

Hmm I definitely wouldn’t go that far as I’m an unashamed Marnus backer but do believe he’s now in a spot where he needs to go back and tear down his game and build it totally back up again and that also includes reeducating himself on how to handle situations on a cricket field.
Arguably he cost them a chance at a first innings lead
If we manage to **** it up these soft dismissals will be a significant part of that.
Now I am calm and not upset and certainly not bipolar - so stop throwing out mental health taunts - but stating an inarguable fact. We have given them a sniff with a number of soft dismissals.

As Marnus has a habit of doing he got delusions of grandeur off the back of his bowling in the last match where circumstances dictated the SA batters didn’t fully attack him. Swepson only being given 1 over and turning them square probably another lucky break and poor captaincy decision.
