It’s a pity McAndrew is missing as he definitely would’ve been the best bowler on this sort of pitch the Vics have served up this morning.

Fighting back, 7/222. Set batter out

Has become a pleasing habit of ours this season

Buckingham 4 wickets. A pity he got injured earlier in the season. He was starting to get noticed

Interesting to why we chose to bowl first, hopefully we do well in the first innings to minimise what we have to chase
According to cricinfo, all 3 teams chose to field this round - Tas put QLD in to bat, NSW did the same to WA, and SA with Vic.

All out for 285, looks good on paper given they were 1/126 but from what I watched they would be disappointed with their bowling effort today, Unfortunately a lot of the bowling was off the mark, they bowled ok in patches but wasted the new ball, leaked easy runs especially against the lower order.

I’m a big fan of Buckingham but still needs to iron out that difference between his best and his worst, looks sensational in spells but then can bowl some floaty over pitched stuff that’s easy to score off, also needs to work on his short ball.

Even on the Junction road probably easily leaked an extra 50 runs they shouldn’t have.

Pitch was a lawn this morning, looks are obviously deceiving as it’s the usual Junction road but it wasn’t going to get better to bowl on I suppose. Wasted the new ball this morning.

Cheers

Sometimes though, a green top can be deceiving. Has been times when cap has come back saying "we're batting" and then tells you he won the toss and you think it will be a play and miss sort of day only to go along at 5 an over to tea with everything going off the middle.

Great start Redbacks.
Well I guess McSweeney has a taste for opening now… seriously though how there isn’t anyone in SA apparently better equipped for opening in first-class cricket than Conor McInerney is mind boggling, bloke is so far from this level. I’d rather they’d open with Manenti or Thornton.

Throw Henry Hunt into that mix.

Was in ok nick before the Big Bash break, has looked totally out of sorts since the restart. Those batters that are red ball specialists and don’t play high level cricket for near 2 months sometimes struggle to jump straight back into the grove.
