heppell is a good player and i do like him but tbh i think Conca suits our needs more atm with
Newman,Houli,Grigg,Batchelor,Ellis, and even Dea doing the role Heppell would of played at Richmond also Helbig,McIntosh in the wings

But that hair is a bit far out

This is exactly the reason why he was selected. At the time we were very short on inside mids and heppell, while a good player is not really that type.

Love Helbig's mongrel - still not entirely convinced of his actual football ability however. Has shown some signs here and there.

Heppell is a gun. anyone saying otherwise is clueless.
having said that, Conca is a clearance machine and is a totally different player. he will take up from where Tuck leaves when Tucky is finished.

I don't give a rats arse about what Heppel is

This is about Reece Conca- the brilliant mongrel bastard that will bleed for us always and give the opposition hell
Go Reecey boy!

Go Reecey bit!
Unfortunately our insecure supporters will always try and find a way of putting draftees who were taken later than ours down. It all stems from the Fiora and Tambling fiasco.
Heppell is all class and is a smooth mover and a very intelligent footballer.
Conca is a grunt player who is composed and is a clearance machine.
I was only mentioning Heppell because it is now clear to me why we preferred Conca despite Heppell being 'outwardly' the better player at this stage. Reece will take over from Tuck next year or the year after and that's what we wanted all along. it was a clear case of drafting for needs, pure and simple and I think it will work.

That will be in 10 years!
ha! I did almost stop myself when I typed that. Tucky could still be going in 15 years, and Fletcher will probably be playing his 600th game as well.:)

My only quibble, Conca will do everything Tuck does but be a more complete player on the outside. Stoked we have him.

Atley is ordinary, you'd have no need to be insecure about it. :p Tbh I'd be just as happy with either of them on our list now that Heppell is playing as a genuine midfielder. They're both going to be very good players. Care factor has hit very low levels. About as much interest as North and the Doggies now.

I hate reading about altley being amazing in every thread that involves north. They're the most insecure supporters. Reminds me of the Simpsons Halloween episode when the advertisements come to life. I think north fans think if anyone didn't look they'd die.

To be fair, if no-one saw this they must be blind. We clearly wanted an inside mid with outside play as well.

uh huh, sure mate. Can't understand why people have this lingering need to justify selection. If you think he's good, good. Why rubbish a very good player to make yourself feel better? I don't get it.
Its called Tamblingphobia - The fear of selecting an out and out dud with a premium pick instead of a superstar.
A very serious affliction causing irrepairable damage to ones pyshce and confidence levels in ones recruiting team. Other side effect include high levels of frustration leading to rage, low self esteem levels and in some cases total mental breakdowns. Only remedy is for said player or one responsible to be traded or sacked.

Played really well but needs to string these types of games together. Not suggesting he needs to play like every week, but too often he plays a good game and then follows up with an average or ordinary one.

He's played what..... 35 games? he's developing quicker than most. We could leave him as a lose man a la Heppell and his possession count would be better but he has a different role for us and he will neeed time to find that consistency. Don't forget he played back for the majority of his first season....

Conca would probably develop quicker if he was injected with PEDs ;)

Reecey Conca's scintillating run last night from our backline to the half forward line & his pin point pass to a team mate was absolute gold!!!

Done the one, two, three, then three bounces and lace-out to Edwards who slotted it. The type of thing Heppell only dreams about late night when he is in bed with himself.

His definitely won many over in the last month of football.

When I found out West Coast were interested I was over the moon thinking YES a new first rounder.
The we he has played lately they can go and get stuffed. He is ours.

Here's to Richmond nailing their first rounders Conca will be a very important part of our future
