Some atheists these days are more full on and extreme then so called religious nuts.
To each their own, believe what you want, whatever makes you happy. Nobody else's business.

Yeah I agree, believe what you want, to each their own, no body else's business. Now all we need is for Christians to play along

This, IMO, is where the grievance towards Christians comes from, they can't keep it to themselves, and some of the time that action is downright offensive, eg these fruits and Cory Bernardi. I think the vocal dissent comes from people having enough of this bullshit.

As far as Hart is concerned though it really shouldn't affect his job, but that doesn't mean people can't at least ask the question.

I did it once, but it had nothing to do with his homosexuality and everything to do with the disastrous haircut.

Prejudice? Can't even joke about it? Is religion a sacred cow......oh yeah. Seen any popular culture lately or do we hold ourselves to a higher standard on this board than the wider community :D

As for Jesus bothering people.....in my experience it is usually the other way around ;)
 
You gotta be a bit like a religious zealot to play sport at the top level. Chasing around a piece of dead animal, being able to kick it well you are rewarded multiple times more salary than a doctor who saves lives, having tens of thousands of people watching you do it and being involved in a multi-billion industry that promotes it, is all as illogical as any religious belief.

Prejudice by definition is a preconceived opinion with no reasonable basis. There is a reasonable basis for having a distaste for religion. Therefore, anti-religious sentiments are not necessarily prejudice.
 
Religion is and forever will be the great debate.

My take is that it's a complete crock of shit and was basically designed to control the masses. HOWEVER, if you become a better person for having religion in your life more power to you. Some people believe in auras, aliens, crossfiters, vegans, psychedelic drugs or, in a lot of our cases, a sporting team. Everyone needs to be fulfilled - how you get that is completely up to you and I don't judge you for it. I judge you when your beliefs and actions effect the way I live my life.

We all believe in something, therefore we are all a bit religious. Some are just more religious than others. Believing in something and having faith that it is true is the basis of religion. The problem with religions is the fact that the majority of us just can't handle the fact that someone believes in something we don't...it seems to bring out the worst in people..starts arguments and wars. I think - therefore I am, I think differently -therefore I am lower than a snakes belly

If your a bit different from the norm I'd rather be in a Christian society than an atheist one.
Masturbation a sin as well so the homosexuals aren't the only ones burning in hell.
Homosexuality won't get you to hell it's the buggery. If you bugger your wife you off to hell aswell.

Sorry for jumping in there with my uneducated catholic spiel.
Good point though about the atheist not sending anyone to hell.

Dare say it, I sit in the no belief camp too.

Personally, I find it greedy and a little ungrateful to have such a wonderful life and feel the need to believe there is possibly something better.

If I'm wrong, then I will be pleasantly surprised.
