As disappointing as last nights loss was there's a stat that can shed some light onto our current position.

Throughout the 2010 season we had 5 losses, and to a team thats become accustomed to winning, losing stings us and we have responded brilliantly after every one of those 5 losses

R3 - lost to Freo by 7
Resonse
R4 - Beat Port by 95

R5 - lost to Carlton by 36
Response
R6 - Beat Tigers by 108

R13 - Lost to Saints by 24
Response
R14 - Beat Roos by 35

R16 - Lost to Crows by 11
Response
R17 - Beat Lions by 63

R19 - lost to Pies by 22
Response
R29 - Beat Dogs by 101

So the 5 games following our losses our average winning margin is 80.4 points.

Bomber will be laying every challange under the sun to the players during the week, and i have full confidence we will respond in the fashion we have in other games this year.

We as supporters are hurting, but multiply that 10 fold for the players. They're to proud to not bounce back after that performance last night.

Be afraid Hawthorn or freo, be very afraid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah well all of those games bar the Bulldogs one were at KP, and we all know how far off their best they were. But I agree, surely so many players won't put in such a poor effort two weeks in a row.

As long as the team stays focused, doesn't think Freo will be a walk in the park, and don't look beyond the semi - assuming this happens we will smash Freo, particularly if Sandilands is injured or restricted.

Unfortunately it doesn't take too long before certain players drop off again and the team loses another game

You can see those losses are a few weeks apart from each other. So the coaching staff have made a correction, the players have responded, and then dropped off again

That's right. Too many players are comfortable and not willing to put in the effort required. Look at Taylor Hunt in the last few weeks - his desperation was sensational - then compare to Stokes, Johnson and even Ablett. Fight hard when the play is around you, then drop off and sulk. Or look at the umpire after every decision that goes against you.

Fact: If we win 3 in a row, we're back-to-back Premiers:thumbsu:

Simple as that
yep. And that hasn't changed since last week. I actually said to a mate about 2 weeks ago I thought a loss in the first final might be what we need. This will really test the boys, and I think they are good enough to respond.

Also I reckon the saints were/are a shoe in to make the big one whether they won or lost to us on Friday. Now however I am more confident we can beat them in the g/f IF we get there. Don't ask me why, just a feeling I have. Saints were out to make a statement on friday and nearly failed to do so. Lets hope the cats spend the next 3 weeks making their statement....
