Rather than celebrating the retirement of every player with an individual thread, I have created this thread to house them all. Luca Toni played his last game on the weekend, scoring this beauty past Gigi Buffon.
He's the last of a dying breed in Italy with most of the forwards now being short, agile and quick. One of the slowest strikers of all time and similar to Miroslav Klose in the way he only really started banging them in his late 20's. He regressed a bit this year at 38 years old which is pretty understandable. However, he was leading scorer in Serie A last year aged 37, singlehandedly keeping Verona up. Toni also has a very underrated goal celebration.....I love it.
Post any other noteworthy retirements in this thread.
