If he's going cheap I think the recruiting staff should have a look.
I think he could play as a small forward quite well, with Davis nearing the end, dick injury cursed and rounds still raw there might be a spot for him.
Yes he's been a let down so far but he was drafted by Richmond and we all know their players have a history of turning it around after leaving the dump.
Id be prepared to offer a 3rd rounder for a 2 year deal.
At best he could be a star at worst he's the new Corrie.

He certainly would be able to deliver the messages quicker then most as our runner.
We play a high tempo harrassing brand of football, something he is known for not doing.

No thanks

Could he be the next David Rodan???? If so then I would look at him.

However, he is soft so can't go through the middle. He'd have to hold down a forward pocket position similar to leon davis...but he has never proven to be a real goal-sneak or an opportunist.

I'm looking more towards Davey at this stage.

I think Richmond would be foolish to dump him. They won't get much for him.

I would investigate him.

Had serious talent as a junior, and given he's been at Richmond under Wallace most of his career who knows how good he could be?

We could knock that black & yellow shit out of him and turn him into a quality player. He has all the attributes, just something going wrong upstairs.

People call him a dud because he was a high profile, high draftpick. He was under the microscope the moment he walked into punt road. As far as being a #4 draftpick? Yeah he was a dud... but I have seen him play decent games and think he might be worth a crack with a late pick.
Who woulda been open to taking "that spud" Leroy a few years back?

Thats what people were saying when Rodan was kicked out of Richmond and now he is a gun. Tambling could do the same.

Had a poor season. But I don't think he is aweful.

Would I still want him? Probably. Depends on how available he is. Handy outside mid/HFF. Does have the ability to play FP even if it is not his natural position. Wouldn't play him there 100% game time, but for periods certainly could be rotated into there.

I'd pay our 2nd rounder + Fraser for him myself.

If we can get him "Leigh Brown" style, then yes.

If we have to give anything, and I mean anything at all away for him, then no.

He reminds me of Chris Egan, in that he has some talent, but he just doesn't look like a footballer should.

Maybe Mick could turn him around, but I'd prefer we didn't take him.

Plus, we have Brad Dick, Leon Davis (at least one more year), Josh Thomas, Ben Sinclair, Luke Rounds and Scott Reed amongst our list of possible small/medium forwards.

So basically, NO.

Brad Dick is made of glass, Leon's form and age are both concerns, Josh Thomas and Ben Sinclair are midfielders and have shown no form as small forwards, and Scott Reed is 192cm... Hardly a crumber.

So it leaves the injury prone Brad Dick, the aging and declining Leon Davis and Luke Rounds, who may or may not make it as a player.

That list proves that adding another crumbing/tackling small forward option to our list is clearly a significant need - The most significant need we have, IMO.

Whether or not Tambling is capable of filling that role is another question, but I remember him kicking 4 goals from a pocket in the first quarter of a game a few years ago and wondering if he'd turned the corner.

Clearly he hadn't, but it left me with the distinct impression that he could kick goals as a forward. He might be worth a shot...

This is definitely a good call. Josh might be going..... Leon isnt getting any younger .... and the Collingwood "faithful" will need someone to sink the boot into when things are tough.

I think we should get Graham Polak too...just in case Richard turns it around

Luke Rounds will make it as a player.....just wait!

When the high point of your career is running away from a Collingwood player and kicking a goal in your first practise match and you haven't been near it since then you aren't even fit to walk with Leon Davis and I'd exit him.
