... its the ones around him I think hes killing.

Blokes like Rodan and Krakouer must be so down on confidence with what Richo give to them. The kids must think, If I get the ball pass to Richo and make a tiny error hes going to crack it at me. They dont want the ball because Richardson is just going to yell at them.

Is Richo really a leader? Is Richo the one who should be leading the kids at the club. Making them feel at home?

If you answer No to these questions, I dont think hes the right person at Richmond.

It was another immature effort from Richo today.

As an aside, are there any skills coaches at Punt Road? I can't believe how bad the Tigers' kicking is.

No 12

You have hit the nail right on the head there rfctigerarmy with your observation.

It's not the damage he does to himself it is the damage he inflicts psychologically to his fellow team mates with his actions and i don't necessarily mean is verbal abuse.

No 12 can be counted on almost without fail to stuff up when the situation counts and when all is lost or doesnt really count he will do OK. He will miss goals when we need them and he will kick them when its of no consequence to the result. He will drop marks when they need to be taken and he will take marks again when the damage has already been done and to top it off he is abusive to younger more talented players than himself.

He is a psychological basket case, a confidence killer for his team and through his incompetence and destructive actions he will stiffle the development of the younger players around him.

His outpoints far out weigh his pluspoints, he does enough at times to create the illusion that he may be worth holding on to and dyed in the wool No 12 lovers will probably be resenting what i am posting here but all i can say to you is for you to seriously look at the actions of this player at the crucial times and uncrucial times of the match that these actions are done and then assess the ramifications of those actions in the context of the game and you will clearly see that this player is more destructive than constructive.

This talk about keeping him because he is a marketing tool is ridiculous. Thats like a news organization saying to the police dont arrest the murderer because if you do he'll stop killing people and we wont make as many newspaper sales anymore because people wont be dying and we'll have nothing to report.

His continued bungaling will psychologically destroy our younger players, for god sake put him away.

i believe if he was in a better side that actually had some skill he would dominate. i mean they kick it over his head all year, last game he cracks it at your teams **** errors. i hope matty leaves your "team".

I know a lot of people to go but I can't see the club trading him. He's definetly not a leader but then not everyone is, but surely the club could've seen he was never going to be captain material.

Still too early for Coughlan to be captain and personally I don't think Campbell's job as skipper has been too bad. But I wouldn't mind seeing over the off season Coughlan elevated into a leadership role as either a vice-captain or deputy vice-captain and slowly ease him into the role as full time skipper.

Maybe Richo isn't ideal for the captian role. However if u look at our team, Who is?
When Cambell and Gaspar are both out of the team, everyone else seems to be to young, or is not the leadership type.

Umm... Mark Coughlan springs to mind.

He did say that everyone else seems to be young, but perhaps Chaffey or A.K.

I think all Richmond supporters are just hoepful that Cogs remains at Richmond and one day becomes captain of the club.

I understand what he said. Richmond have made a lot of mistakes already. If this did fail (I cant see how) it would only be a small thing.

Wouldnt it also keep him at the club?

I don't personally think its a real bad idea, but I think we have to be careful of putting too much pressure on him. Has to be remembered that he has really only just completed his first full season (he wasn't 1st choice player start of last year) and only has about 40 odd games.

I'm also happy with Campbell as captain currently I think the problem is Richo given a leadership role as I mentioned earlier in the thread perhaps give Coughlan a vice-captains role and groom him for the captains job once Campbell retires.

I would love to see one of the boys giving Richo a spray see how he likes being on the recieving end. I noticed at one of the breaks (can't remember which) Coughlan was at the front of the group walking towards the coaching staff when he seemed to look back and hurl a few words of advice at someone. From the look on his face he wasn't happy.

We will be a much better side without Mr Mediocrity, Richo, in the side. 10 years is long enough, get rid of him for his own sake and the clubs.
