Hey guys im a brisbane supporter and I will take an intrest in the Gold Coast. Just wondering will ricky be up there on there wish list ?? i believe his out of contract and is from broadbeach on the gold coast. His form already this year first 2 round plus preseason has been tremendous following a good season last yr. I might just be a little worried as a dees supporter. More money, go home and might be a more successful side, what else do you want ?

I can't see Ricky leaving, he practically owes his life to the Melbourne Football Club after that sickening injury a couple of years ago.

He's a required player and I can't see him leaving, he's found his role in this team after a long while and I don't think he'll want to leave.

As much as i would hate to see Petterd go, Tapscott would be a worthy replacement.

Still I rate Petterd highly and want him to stay a Dee, so.. back off:cool:

they can have brad miller.... future star yet to reach his prime IMO... queensland boy... gotta be worth a first round pick:p

SIGN HIM UP DEES SIGN HIM UP NOW. The kids a gun, he is a future leader of the club. Nobody puts their body on the line like this kid he is just so desperate. I don't care what it takes he needs to be in the red and blue jumper for life.

This. I believe he has said as much too.

Also, if we continue to improve and win a few games this year, it's hard to fathom he'd jump off after putting up with all the down years.

That mark where he ran and ran and ran and dived to get to a ball he had no right to be reaching was the highlight of the day.

Club should make re-signing him a priority

Disagree.

This, due to the fact that Tapscott hasn't played a game coupled with the fact that Ricky played a blinder, should now be considered blasphemy.

That is all.

Not sure they would be too worried as they are in a window anyway, but if you want to thank Brisbane thank them for Jack Grimes ;)

Petterd was terrific. He probably feels responsible for the loss due to the last dropped mark, but he had a sensational day.

Another Tassie boy claimed as a Queenslander, but a real gem if he can maintain that form.

He'll start to get a lot more attention now so it will be very good when we have a big key forward to give him a bit of slack.

His dad Wayne was a great player for Hobart - plays the exact game as his old man, fearless and crafty.

“The curtain-raiser was a Surfers Paradise game and that was my junior club, so I had mates playing in that game and I went to watch them,” he said.

“Gold Coast happened to play afterwards, so I watched a bit of their game (and) then left to go and watch the Dees play on TV. I don’t see what the big deal was about.”

For the record, Petterd has no plans to move back to his home state, and he's more than happy to be part of an emerging Demons outfit.

“It’s an exciting place to be," he said.

"It’s in the hands of my manager and the club now, so there’s not much I can really do. They will look after it, I’m sure.”

I'd say Ricky's all but a Dee in 2011

He doesn't specifically say anything though, and its nothing we haven't really heard before. The other boys like Morton and Frawley came out and specifically said NO to the Gold Coast. From that article i think it is still up in there air - he wants to stay at Melbourne but if Gold Coast throw A LOT his way, then he is gone.

Now with Jamar locked away for another 2 years, Petterd and Scully must be our next priority! Both will play key roles in our hopeful resurgence in the coming years.
