Riewoldt Captaincy Material?

Hello All,

I am not trolling, just wondering what St Kilda supporters views are on Riewoldt as captain.
Without question Riewoldt is an outstanding player, and one of the best in the AFL but to be honest i was astonished he was named All-Australian Captain. I have never seen him as displaying any leadership ability, and when push came to shove in the last quarter against Geelong where was he to lead his team?
There is no doubting of his immense skill and talent, but it takes something different to be captain, something i dont think he has.
IMO, at the end of the game instead of crying, no matter how hurt he was, he should have been going around lifting his boys off the turf, getting them up and telling them to suck it up and win it next year....

Where was Harley? he only saw the ball what 5 times? On the logic he'd have been more inept at leading his men would he not? or does he have that special something that Riewoldt doesn't according to you?

Just because you do not see, does not mean he is not.

I'd prefer to see nick showing his emotions rather than being a cold bastard telling people to "suck it up". I guess "feather duster" maxwell would be saying "well 09 finished badly, suck it up" would he?

If captains did that... methinks they would not be captains much

thoughts.........ur a complete f wit!!!!!!!!!! he is 10times better leader than Maxwell and as captains do, LEADS BY EXAMPLE.

are players not allowed to be upset at losing a grand final? is malthouse the worlds worst coach for crying when you lost to brisbane?
 
This guy single handedly clawed us to the finals and top 4 last year.

Single handedly pulled us into a PF and GF this year.

Our best player, our most courageous player.

I just feel for Lenny. He'd be captain at any other team.

Wow, that's possibly the worst thing ive ever, ever read

Fantastic captain, in fact, one of the best in the AFL. He is smart, speaks well, is good in the media, leads by example, and isn't a "do as a I say not as I do" player. I can't believe someone woudl even question it. If you're a troll. fine. But if you're legit, I can only think you are ******ed in some way, or have never seen a game of football

Ridiculous thread. Wouldn't have anyone else but Riewoldt as our captain.

His performance and leadership in the last couple of years has been nothing short of outstanding. Didn't have his best game on Saturday but the conditions weren't in his favour, still tried his heart out like he always does.
