Well nut i came on here with all guns blazing since you have a blantant dis regard for tallent which was proven when you stated, and i quote "Good to see that is Tredrea falling back were he should be considered. A good wingman, and that's all he is and ever will be". secondly i rate richo's year better than Treadre's this year and i do rate him as one of the top forwards in the league, and again i would like to say that treadre plays a team role and his role which does lead him onto the wing and into the centre is purely because hes the best link man we have to get the ball into the forward line. If you can name a single player we could use in that link position who is affective with his hands and feet skills then im all ears. Id also like to say to Roger Rabbitt that i am a journalist and so i have watched quite a few if not all of the richmond games this year and i would have to say they would have been a bigger force had they not lost brownie. Now back to you nut, richo's workrate is second to none and i didnt mean to insinute that i likened his workrate to fevola, i meant his head has dropped and his attitute to his fellow players was not the greatest in the past but even though i live and breath port adelaide i have to give credit where its due and richo is a good forward and to end this post on a light note, i traded richo into my AFL 2005 team on the PC game for the first round draft pick lol.

Exactly Richo the Better FORWARD, Tredrea the Better Link Player. I have no problems admitiing that. Infact I would prefer to have seen Richo play that role more through out his carreer, but the level of coaching he has had to put up with has held him back.

Richo = Power Forward and contested mark specialist

Tredrea = Link player and excellant chest Marker

richo is no where near as good as tredders, sure richos good, but he aint no premiership captain (is he even made AA) misses way too many easy shots and kicks the impossible ones. Champions are consistant richo aint either of the 2.

To see Brown only averages 1.49 goals a game surprises me and really, makes me think he is highly overrated. Chris Grant averaged more goals per game this season than Brown does for his career, and he layed 2 thirds of the time in the backline, and played with injuries.

The Fact that Richo is consistently not considered amongst these players mentioned above and amongst the best Forwards in the Competition and is often shoved aside as a sook and sulker is an insult to my club and Richo himself. Richo has been at an elite level for 13 years consistently kicks 70 odd goals a year averaging close to 3 goals and takes near enough to 8 marks a game.

When the players above can achieve that than THEY can be compared to RICHO, STEWWIE LOWE, CAREY, LYON etc.. at the moment Tredrea is simply a long leading forward that takes plenty of chest marks.

I agree entirely with what you're saying about Richo, but not at all about Tredrea. Tredrea is a deadset champion, great hands, works his asse off, physical and he kicks goals. For mine he's been the best CHF of the last 5 years. He is overly criticised because I think he is often percieved as boring and selfish, but his results are outstanding

However I agree that the way Richardson is often joked about and dismissed as a player entirely is ridiculous. He is an absolute star, one of the legitimate champion forwards of the last 15 years. People wet their pants about Jonathan Brown but I haven't seen him have a season where hes taken 177 grabs and kicked 91. Even last season Richo took 166 grabs and kicked 65 goals which is an awesome performance, but his name isn't often mentioned when people talk of the great forwards

Riewoldt and Brown don't deserve to be compared to Tredrea yet.The only other chf in Tredrea's league is Hall and IMO will be the best again in 2006!

I'm probably going to get shouted down, but I think Brown is overrated. He has a big physical presence, and sometimes it seems like that alone is enough to convince a lot people he's one of the best CHFs/forwards running around. I'd put Tredders, Richo, Hall, Pav, and Riewoldt above him.

Sometimes a person needs to make huge statement to get his missage accross. Tredrea is a champ, But so is Richo and when comparing current AFL Power Forwards please include Mathew Richardson, you dont get stats like that being a hack.

I went as far as saying that when on song he is probably the most exciting player I have seen. Have said this many many times over the years.
Talent wise he is probably the most gifted, however there are many gifted players that do not live up to the lofty heights that some other not quite as gifted players get to. Richo is one of these.
Would most of us love to have him in our side? Chit yeah.
Would he be first choice when you can select between Richo, Tredrea, Hall, Pavlich and co? No.
The others are more consistent/reliable and because of this add more to the team than Richo does over the course of a season.

He was one of the first of the new breed CHF/FF that most play nowadays.
The degree of either spot is debatable with most of these players.
Richo perhaps is more FF than say Tredrea or Hall, who roam far and wide for long stretches when required, but the traditional FF is almost gone from the game.

2.98 x 22 games= 65 goals a year. Sorry my mistake I meant 65 odd goals per year.

Tredrea = 2.28 x 22 = 50 goals per year

Because people leave out Richo when comparing Forwards. And it p.sses me off.
