Best chance, I reckon, is to use Maxwell in his usual loose man role, but with a greater emphasis on simply stopping Roo, rather than filling a hole. You'd end up with a sort of double-teaming of Roo wherever he went. Would certainly leave your backline vulnerable, but we do go to Roo a lot.

Mmmm, classy.

Sorry to make you cry.

Maybe it's a compliment to Riewoldt that the only way we can stop him is to put him on the pine.

Whilst we're on cunning plans, operation Pendleruse... or was it Ruselbury? is well under way. Broken leg my eye. He'll rise like a phoenix from the ashes as an eleventh hour late inclusion.

Meanwhile back in reality, I think Maxy did a good job on Riewoldt. He kept him to a goal if I'm right? Keep maxy on him and have a loose man in defense cut off his leads. Who's our fastest runner? Johnson? Clarke? Barham? Have one of these road runners *meep meep!* infront of Roo.

We cannot afford to do this. Saints play the zone, you must play man on man and run the footy! Haven't we learnt from out Hawthorn mistakes? Geeeeeeeeeeez!

I don't believe it is even a matter of stopping Riewoldt, it's a matter of stopping his supply. And unfortunately we can't do that right now.

Reason being is because our bodies aren't as big as St. Kilda's, and we can't win enough contested football.

We need to go away and work on size and strength to bridge the gap between ourselves and the top 2 sides. Geelong and St. Kilda are very big, powefull sides, and that is the reason why I think Geelong are the only real contender to St. Kilda.

Let's remember how long St. Kilda and Geelong have been building their sides. It started way back in 1999-2000.

They are just so mature and have grown together as a football side and it has got to a stage where it has all come together and their bodies and brains are mature enough to win a premiership.

Hopefully our younger players can walk away after facing St. Kilda on Sunday and realize that's where they're going to have to get to to win a premiership.

We didn't help ourselves by our players running away from contested situations to zone back in defence instead of geting to the contest to help our team mates.

Give him a management / weasel words dictionary and drop it 70 metres out - he'll want to get there and swat up on banal corporate speak.

Or...Maxwell on him or Reid, definitely have Reid earmarked for a go next year.
