Women were heavily favoured to do better than the men.

Thrilled with the way the men have gone, but while Tolo is playing for the opals, we are only going to look second rate.

Tolo is your problem with the Opals?

The boomers now have a critical mass of NBA level players including guys who have played in and won NBA championships do they're not overawed/star struck like I think previous Australian teams have been

Listening to delly in that interview then gaze was gushing because we've made the semi and the reply was they're focusing on the gold because that's what they came for

We've got players who are used to the attention, expectation and pressure. It shows
Yeah the chemistry definitely comes from having players who have never been out and out stars and therefore mesh perfectly as nobody needs a quota of shots or anything like that.

While the US will still win in my opinion, that's the very reason they haven't blown teams away like they should. There's no proper floor general, which is something you need in a tournament like this and there really is too many guys who all play in a similar way.

What players would have made USA's preferred side? LeBron, Curry, Westbrook, Griffen, Harden, Davis, Paul, Leonard? The latter 2 may have helped the most. Apart from Durant and a few others, the Olympics side seems a bit like a B-team. Can't see them losing, but at this stage it is still a possibility.

The team they currently have is still pretty talented, it's just a team that totally ignores fitting pieces together. Their best team would involve these changes:
In: Curry, Westbrook, Paul, Griffen, Harden, Davis, Paul, Leonard
Out: Derozan, Barnes, Irving, Lowry, Butler, George, Melo, Jordan
PG: Curry
SG: Harden
SF: Durant
PF: James
C: Davis

Paul,Westbrook, Leonard, Thompson, Griffen, Green, Cousins

Melo might have squeezed on purely because his game always suits this type of tournament.

It's very rare that they ever would be able to field a roster like that, but they'd ideally like LeBron, Curry and either Paul/Westbrook on their current roster. They all can run the offence far better than Irving and Lowry can, while also being better scorers. Defensively they'd be much more of a terror with Davis, LeBron and Leonard out there as well.

I've never seen anything like our sustained swarming defense in my 34 years.

Never

Tolo is your problem with the Opals?
Not saying she was the only problem. Cambage played terribly, but at least she has aspects of her game that make her look like a basketballer that played badly. Tolo looks like she is there purely because she is tall. No natural basketball instinct at all. Very forced with everything she does.

Why does Cabbage not also play in the WNBA? Surely a 22 game Chinese season wouldn't be too grueling to back up from.

Spain destroyed France

Be fantastic if they knocked over the US
