RIP Dick Pratt

Dick has passed away this evening.

Condolences to the Pratt Family.

What can be said that hasn't already been said. His large contribution to the CFC and Australian society will never be forgotten. Hopefully he took great heart from the favourable decision to clear his name of criminal charges and hopefully the win on the weekend made his last few days as enjoyable as possible.

Confirmed on The Age website.

RIP Dick.

Having met you personally (my grandparents knew you very well for a long time, and were neighbours for 20+ years), you will be sorely missed.

You were a great man for the Carlton Football Club and will be forever remembered as the man that saved our great club from the brink of folding.

The Carlton Football Club is forever in your debt.

Condolensces to the Pratt family.

RIP :(

where did you hear this very sad news ??

The end of an era at Carlton but the start of a new one. But we wouldn't be in the position we are without him. So sad. Condolences to the Pratt family.

A sad day in the massive history of the Carlton Football Club. We need to take on the responsibility of educating future footy followers, Carlton and non-Carlton alike, exactly what this bloke did for us. Vale, Richard.

Not much to say other than God bless and RIP Dick, I am sure I speak for all in thanking him and applauding his leadership that has not just saved our dear club, but he has also influenced and changed peoples lives who need it most...........again God bless!

R.I.P Dick.
I for one would like to say thank you for what you have done to our club.
We were on the brink of folding and then you came along and pulled our club to the powerhouse side we should be.
My thoughts and prays go out to Dicks family and friends on this sad sad day.

Thank You Dick, you done the club wonders.
Lets do it for him. Carlton 2009!!

p.s- i had a funny feeling at 7pm tonight. My body went cold and just stopped for a minute.

We all thank you Dick
for what you have done
Picked us up when we were bottom
and set us to be number one
Put pride back in the place
and made us stand tall
not when we were atop
but with our backs to the wall
You put the structure in order
brought on sponsors to boot
Gave up lots of your time
And lots of your loot
Your legacy will roll on
Through coach that wore seven
We love you Dick Pratt
Rest well in "Blue Heaven"

Well Said MAte:)

This Board might consider closing for a 24 hour period at some stage as a gesture of remembrance and acknowledgement of Dick's unprecedented generosity to and support for the CFC. Just a thought.
