David Hookes will always be a legend no matter what other ppl say. He will be sadly missed all because of some twit who decided to punch him out and cause a fatality.

very touching tribute wasnt it? i tried to record it off the computer coz i was out between 6 and 8 but accidentally plugged the line into the earphone jack instead of the mic. But i heard it replayed.
terrible, terrible news. I'm not even from Vic or SA but i was devastated. wouldnt be all bad if the Vics go on to claim it this year... would be the result of the hard work David put in. The worst thing is he wouldn't be able to see the crowning glory of his post playing years.

A sandgroper & a Vic sitting here in Bangkok listening to AW on the net - we can't quite believe what's happened. First heard the news late Sunday night local time & have tried to follow the story as it has unfolded since.
We listened & had a tear in our eye on Monday night as Dwayne Russell & Terry Wallace delivered the show under what must have been horrendous circumstances. Even now, listening to Gerard Healy & all the tributes is stirring stuff.
Says a lot about Hookey - not many of us ever met him yet he seemed to be the proverbial mate.
Anyone know where we can get hold of Gerard's opening tribute from Tuesday's Sports Today? Unfortunately, Thailand's internet service let us down & we missed it... we were spewing...
