While I understand the idea behind just canning the round. it's a bit hard now that a) it's 6 hours from the next game, with 75k expected at the G, and b) a game has already been played.

Minute silence before each game, and if Adelaide FC don't feel up to playing I'm sure Geelong won't argue with calling it a draw.

This, and Adelaide will get till tomorrow morning to decide unless they already have already (which I doubt)

Just imagine the final siren when Adelaide win at home after this tragedy, it'd be one of the best wins in the club's history.

But fully understand if they need time off.

Game is on Channel 7, so hopefully it goes ahead. Will be such an emotional game.

That said if they cancel it they have my support 100%.

So 2 points each and the round continues with that game cancelled.

Appropriate, sensible and commensurate response to the tragedy.

Agreed. Best decision by the AFL. Glad to see Geelong agreeing with this

This presser is making me tear up. I never really get emotional about sporting figures passing, not even Phil Hughes from earlier this year, but something about this is just shattering and really getting to me. #weflyasone

I have my Sydney and Collingwood scarves tied on my balcony, and an Adelaide member just rang my doorbell and said that he thought it was a nice gesture. This would not be a huge thing - but considering we aren't even in Adelaide I think it's pretty wonderful that something as simple as putting out a scarf can show camaraderie.

I put my scraf out the car window at lunch then did the school pick up just now and someone nicked it in the car park

glad it was just my generic red and white thing i had in the boot

Very sad day in footy. It still doesn't seem real that the game has lost a senior coach. Thinking of the Crows players, staff and supporters, everyone in the AFL community who worked with him, and his family and friends, I can't imagine losing a loved one in such horrible circumstances.

Hats off to the AFL for how they have handled this.

Maybe the bf swans board could all club together and send flowers or something or is that lame?
The crows board is doing that. Feel free to add your name on it. I'm thinking about doing it

Its a tough thing. Just a tragic situation

Yup
Thats it its unbelievable
Yep that has been my emotion all day. Just can't believe it, gutted.

Murder is a whole different thing...

Sad sad day for his family and the football community.

I think people also reflect on these things sometimes and it also draws you into thinking about the incident somewhat experiencing it yourself in some weird way which draws more emotion on a personal level.

RIP Phil
