For those like us who take the pilgrimage every so often to Melbourne, Pellegrinis was our late night coffee and strudel stop. Sisto was always there for a chat and words of wisdom. A couple of days before the 2013 GF he gave us the run down on why we had the support of the entire Melbourne AFL fan base bare Hawthorn. A real gentleman and a sad senseless loss. Pellegrinis will always be our late night Coffee stop in Melbourne.

RIP Sisto

I was on Collins Street as this was going down and the police cars started flying up Swanston Street, having no idea of the seriousness of the situation. I didn’t know Sisto but a lot of friends and their families did. The whole thing is a tragedy.

Crikey

I was waiting for a tram headed for the Labour in Vain in Fitzroy. Bumped into a mate there who works for the Melbourne City council looking pretty shook up. He’d heard the explosion of the car that he said sounded like a skip bin being dropped, he said when he looked out his council office window he saw an older man laying down in a pool of his blood. That must have been Sisto.

My dad took me to Pellegrini’s in the 90’s when he had an office over in Melbourne and every time i go to Melbourne I always have to eat there. The best gnocchi, cake and espresso in Australia. Such a gentleman and so much history at that restaurant.

He was a great, great man. I'd often pop in for a quick espresso on the way to the G.
Sisto was always there. I won't say I got to know him well, but I knew him and he was such a gentleman.
So sad.

Vale Sisto. By all accounts he saw the car in flames and was going towards the driver to see if he was OK.

Can't say I'm a regular at Pellegrini's but given it's a block away from the office I've been there many times. An institution.

I left the office around 4:45 & noticed the police helicopter hovering in one spot. Wasn't until I was on the train heading home that I read about what had happened & thought "I walked past there a couple of hours ago".

Labour In Vain is a good pub btw!
