Out of interest, who is Geelong's biggest rival? What team do the supporters most like to see beaten?? (eg Anzac day or the derbys and showdowns)

General concensus would probably be Hawthorn with North Melbourne and Collingwood right up there.

I would have to agree that Geelong and Melbourne, the two oldest clubs, would be our most traditional rivals. I think we should make an annual event of playing the Demons on Easter Saturday at the MCG, would draw a good crowd as well.

Other rivals would be the Western Bulldogs and Hawthorn.

A lot of Geelong supporters can't stand Hawthorn.
This probably dates back to the Matthews/Bruns incident and the '89 Grand Final.

Love beating Collingwood, Essendon, Richmond and Carlton, but the biggest rivarly over the last few years (has died down recently) would be Geelong VS North Melbourne. Always played on a Friday night; Carey vs McGrath, Ablett on Mick Martyn (in his prime), it was quite a treat to watch.

I've never considered Melbourne a rival (too young?), to me it is more like a try hard engineered blockbuster.
