Aint had 1 of these threads in a while, simple question.

They are 2 of the best young key defenders in the league so simply, who do you rate more highly?

Rivers, he just makes footy look so easy

Maquire has a few more strings to his bow (can ruck a bit and go forward, also has a very penetrating kick) but as a CHB and defender in general, Rivers is far more better for me and gets the nod but you'd kind of expect that from a Melbourne supporter. It will be interesting to see what some St. Kilda opinions are,

I went for Rivers out of Bias but you can't lose with either of them. Their futures are very bright.

Of course Rivers is better and he is Melbournes best defender as well.

Maguire would be dropped already if he wasn't one of GT favourite players. He has a gold pass to play week in, week out regardless of performance.

Maguire, can take the big forwards (Hall). Rivers is good at loose man and playing on the 3rd tall forward, but Maguire plays true CHB.

Hunter aint as good as Rivers at CHB. Hunter is best as a forward imo.

Obviously I'd go for Goose.

Can shut down his opponent, provide excellent drive from defence, split packs open and if he has a kick within 80m of goal he'll probably lob a torp straight through the big sticks.

I believe he's been used incorrectly this year btw, he's often been playing as the loose man in the backline, but I reckon he's much better when told to stick to an opponent, as shown by his demolition of the shiny-headed one.

On the other hand, I haven't seen alot of Rivers. He's been injured alot and Melbourne don't play alot of Fri/Sat night games (on FTA), which are usually the only ones I watch.
