Our kids looking crap and other teams’ kids looking good is a lot about system.
It’s on the group too, though. No one can see he’s going to get run down, or no one says anything?

Other teams set up so the kicker knows where to go to, and probably an attacking option or a safe one. And the other players bust their arses to provide those planned options. Much less to think about, and more time to measure the kick.

We get the ball and it’s chaos. No wonder they have to take a second to see what’s there. The alternative? We bag them for hack kicks that the opposition have already set up for.
It would suck being a young defender at our club right now.
