he had the whole second half of the year at coburg and did nothing, even though i dont rate howat i can admit cam was playing very good footy and deserved his opportunity, roach didnt

this whole braun 10 possesions blah blah is a joke, braun had a finals series to look forward to and roach was playing for his career, meanwhile guys like le cras and rosa cut us up and missed a grand final some people think roach was unlucky, laughable

goodbye tom, tell your dad he was a champ:thumbsu:
Actually Tom had about 3 or so best on grounds in the second half of the season and was well deserving of a place in the side.

As for Braun if he was there he was playing at 100% and trying his best, are you saying that he wasn't trying a couple of weeks before when he had 35 possies, WC knew they were gonna be in the finals so by your logic he was looking towards the finals.

I'm not so sure about this. He may have been named in the best but that doesn't mean he was good, remember that the Burgers faded badly and were getting done most games late in the year.

yeh west coast wanted a top 2 possie so its not like he didnt give a **** about winning they just wanted to give guys like rosa and butler more game time, its not as if the match was up for grabs in the second half was it :thumbsd:

as i said before remove your lips, your embarassing yourself

its one thing to defend a player its another to sound obsessed

Thomas has had less oppurtunaty than Kel Moore who is being retained on our list.
You reckon?
Moore's been injury plagued.
What's Roach's excuse?

Moore has been given more games in the ones than Thomas because:
(1) in his brief time at Coburg (between injuries) he has shown more than Roach.
(2) He plays a role we are deficient in. Roach doesn't.

Roach has had ample opportunity at Coburg. Unfortunately most of the Coburg listed players showed more than him.

:) SHOW them both the door. Neither will amount to anything and help us become successful. Both wasting our time!

He was injured, he wasn't....he got game time, he didn't...he kept Braun to this, he kept Yze to that.

Mere excuses ladies and gentlemen....smoke and mirrors...disguising the simple fact that neither is worthy of a spot on an AFL list.

Statistically there were 7 worse clubs than us last season. Doubt they would command a game at any of those seven clubs either.

No room for sentiment. They've showed enough times over the last few years that they can't play. Comparing VFL to AFl is like comparing A-League In Australia to Premier League in England!

Fire both their a***s!!!

Tom definetly earned his right to be on Richmonds list under the f/s rule, I have followed him since a kid as I played for the same side he did, and all through out his teenage carrer he won Best and Fairest's with his many clubs including Oakleigh Chargers and Carey Grammer.
Disagree. He showed very little at junior level to suggest he was going to be a 100 game player. Will stand by my statement that his drafting was a feel-good excercise.
He's not up to AFL level. No shame in it. He tried his best, he got found out. Happens to plenty of kids who others think will make it.
His old man was and will always be my favourite Tiger. Young Tom just doesn't cut it this level. Move on.

I like the point you make here Tugga, about there being no shame in not making it in the AFL. Plenty of really good footballers have never even played one game of AFL, so it's no disgrace for these guys to have played few games but not been able to cement themselves in a side. I think at times we are pretty hard on some of the players who are in this category. Tommy Roach, Rodan and Humm (moving across the country with no gaurantee and for $30k a year) have all given the AFL their best shot, but they have struggled for a number of reasons to make an impact. That's not to say they have lacked commitment, desire or attitude. Plenty have wasted their chance because of a lack of the above but I don't think any of these guys could be questioned for their efforts. They haven't made it, maybe won't make, but have to be respected for their efforts.

Exactly Moore has had an injury plagued carrer, where as Tom hasn't had so many injuries, but the simple fact that Moore can't seem to stay fit for a number of weeks has got to mean something doesn't it?
Plus Moore has been on Richmond's list for one year more than Tom, and started on the Rookie list which means every team bypassed him before we decided to picked him up.
Also Kel Moore wheighs only a few kg more than Tom and he is 6cm taller than Thomas and Thomas is in a very fit condition.

Tom hasn't played very well at Coburg not because others have shown more but because in the VFL it is much harder to play in a midfield role than a KP, Coburg players rarely pass to Richmond listed players and is one of the many reasons it is so hard for any player to dominate the team at VFL level, if you think about it you will know what I mean for example the really good forwards cant cut it at AFL level ie: Podsiadly and Edwards, but there are many good midfielders and players who blitz at both VFL and AFL level ie:Swallow and to a lesser extent Pendlebury.

no offence mini, but i think you are looking at ya pal through rose coloured glasses. i think he is a good guy from what ive seen (which is not much) , he has tried his best - but at the end of the day -can't cut it to make an afl side. excuses like the coburg boys dont pass to him and etc, just sounds like "dog eatting the homework" stuff. Nothing against him personally though, im sure he did his best and he got alot closer to being an afl star than the rest of us blokes - but cant cut it. he has never had any impact whats so ever in a senior match from what i can re-call, and has rarely ever made the vfl players look like 2nd rate players

Actually he was very good at junior level, I know, I have seen his Trophy room.

Look I don't really care if Tom is kept on the list or not but I don't think Kel Moore deserves to be kept on in front of Tom or why either of them can't be delisted and pick up a good young kid in the PSD or normal draft, as I would love to see one of my mates Jesse White get picked up by the Tiges.

Tom has been contacted by a team to train with them, I don't know what team but I am pretty sure it is one of the ones who finished below us.
Possibly Hawthorn.
