the fact that he got a record deal before some other idols, like Paulini is the worst thing the record industry and labels has ever done! They should have been ashamed! I mean yes Guy should have got one, yes Shannon (although I did object), but Courtney Act and Millsworth? You got to be kidding me! Millsy should have been kicked out of Idol anyway for coming late to rehersal. :o He only got the record deal for the school kids.

Let's face it - they are all destined to face obscurity after a short amount of time along with the likes of Scott Cain, Bardot, and Scandalous.
 
Robert Mills is easily one of the most annoying people in Australia, if not the world.

I saw him hanging from the balcony and sucking face with Paris Hilton, and cannot imagine a less attractive person being labeled "hot".

His singing is mediocre at best, and his video clip (which I sat through out of bordem and wished I hadn't) is pretty awful, with him leering stupidly at the camera while "beauty contestants" parade around with disparaging character traits printed on thier sashes.

Fair to say I'm not a fan.

Guy Sebastian can't sing for ****. Sorry. Will have to agree to disagree. Can't hold a note, flimsy voice....:o

If they are such good singers, how come they had to go on a show like Aus Idol to get any exposure? Why weren't they ever noticed before? myee is right. In a year or two nobody will think about them.

Yeah, like only good singers get noticed and get exposure.

About 3 quarters of the singers out there currently who have gotten exposure and have been noticed can't actually sing.

I admit the vast majority of artists that have come from tv shows like Aust Idol and Popstars will fade into obscurity (and rightly so), however, I believe Guy Sebastian might be an exception (despite what you think of his singing abilities!).

Time will tell I suppose...

I didn't say that. I have no doubt that there are people who get noticed and can't sing. I'm saying, if he's so brilliant, why did it take something this? Sure, there are plenty of good singers that are never noticed either...and if they're really determined, they can work their arse off, instead of just queuing up for a spot on a show like Idol. (I think I sound rather narrow minded there, but I don't mean to be.)

There are some awesome singers on that show (I've only ever seen little bits and pieces of it), but if they really cared about singing ability, surely it would be the judges that decide who goes through, and not the populace?
