The world's most overrated full back?

I'd say so. The guy has f*ck all defensive skills and is pretty much all-out-attack.

The biggest joke is his 'deadly' free-kicks. Apart from one fluke a few years back, his long range, hi-speed free kicks end up in Row Z than the back of the net.

No wonder Real have defensive issues, if I was Carlos Q i'd be giving him the boot.

I agree. And Real should try to buy El Becko's mate Gary Neville to replace him.

World's most overrated footballer?

My lasting memory of his 'greatness' was when he tried that ridiculous bicycle-kick clearance against Denmark in the Quarter-Finals of France98. He landed on his arse and Brian Laudrup was left alone to score the equaliser.

Didn't see his goal vs. Marseille, did you?

That's one - emphasis on one - for the archives then.

Put it this way. His FK goal for Brazil against the might of China at KJ2002 was his first deadball strike for the Selecao since that cracker he scored at Le Tournoi which created the entire myth.

As dyertribe put it, that's one.

If Roberto Carlos was lining up a free kick at some distance, i'd get the opposition to all gather round and take bets on which row the ball will end up in - cos' it sure wont find the net!

When you have Beckham, Zidane and Figo in your side, why would you have this dud taking them?

Didn't RC finish 7th or something in the award the Zidane won last week. Somewhat surprising

Very surprising - I felt the fact he's from Real would have ensured him a top 5 finish.

Maybe a bit over rated but "duds" a bit rich
