Best thing about Nahas and I'm a broken record on this, he "STAYS ON HIS FEET". He needs to conduct training sessions at Richmond on how to keep your feet in a contest. Far too many of our players just fall over and go to ground for no reason. Simmonds and Bowden need to see inner ear specialists that deal with people with balance issues, they go to ground in every marking contest they are involved in.

Is Nahas able to stay on the list till seasons end ? He was a rookie elavation wasnt he ? ....... Just guessing Kane Johnson was on the injury list and will most likely play at some stage for a farewell game at least .. Not sure the situation with Polak , surely he wont play but is he on the long term injury list.

Is there a time frame when rookies must go back ??? Or is he able to stay on the list as long as a player is out injured ???
Clubs are allowed to elevate a rookie after round 11 regardless of whether they have a LTI or not. Given Johnson isn't supposed to be back until after the break we might just make it.

Good point, at one stage, Bowden about to pounce on the ball look liked a sniper shot him!
But we all know about Bowden.
Too late to teach new, honest tricks to I guess.
:thumbsd:

Next coach will run Bowden so fast out of the club that his feet won't touch the ground anyway! He's gone...not part of the future.

Couldn't we just say that Simmonds has some disease and needs to be put on the LTI? He certainly plays like it.

one think we have done really well with over the wallace era is our rookie draft selections. I think it will be hard to top nathen foley as our most inpired selection but robbie nahas will go close.

The only reason those guys show up is because our 'real' draft selections have been so crap. Foley is doing the job we thought Tambling would do (selection 4) or maybe Rodan (selection 33), Tom Roach (38), or Oakley-Nicholls (pick 8). Nahas is kicking goals as a small forward, when we should have Pettifer (selection 9), Morton (44), Danny Meyer (pick 12), Alex Gilmour (pick 21), or Shane Edwards (Pick 26) doing the job.

It shows how crap our drafting has been - the above are the players who should be taking those roles, not desperation grabs off the rookie list. Nahas and Foley are great, but that's our problem. Yes, all clubs have high-draft stuff-ups, but I reckon we have more than most. (I'm probably being harsh on Edwards - he still has time, and I like him - but he should be doing more).

I've seen our centre square set-up consist of Graham (rookie), Foley (rookie), Tuck (reject-pick 70+) and Daniel Jackson (pick 50+).

Who knows - maybe it is our player development. Players like Foley, Nahas, Thursfield, and Graham (and Tuck) may have got more of their development away from Richmond.

+ Other late picks/psd/rookies: Moore, White, Collins...Browne will come good aswell.

Late Picks
(after 50) vs Early Picks

F: Nahas Graham Gilligan
B: Polo McGuane Polak
HF: Connors Putt Gourdis
HB: Post Rance McMahon
C: Collins Jackson White
C: Tambling Deledio Thomson
HB: Newman Moore Raines
HF: Pettifer Riewoldt Hughes
B: King Thursfield Hislop
F: Vickery Schulz Oakley-Nicholls
R: Browne Foley Tuck
R: Pattison Cotchin Coughlan

I've included trades. To be honest I would almost back the red team...most of them are just harder workers.

yer... makes you think that the reason is the rookies know they have to work harder to make it. maybe this is where the culture problems at our club lie. The the talented players think they can rely on talent alone... where as the rookies are showing them up because of dedication.

I had a great sleep
Dreaming of Nahas kickin' goal after goal after goal ;)
He's a real leader that little kid
Wasn't just his goals, but his tackling and pressure he put on :thumbsu:

the benefit of bombing it in and sloppy conditions suited small forwards. most of the goals came from crumbing small forwards, unlike port who had a dominant kpp.

Hope they don't bulk him up too much. He's lightning quick and agile in that forward line. This kid is 67 kilos of pure talent.

Totally agree:thumbsu:

To many players go for the big slide into the contest, if they kept their feet and kicked off the ground, the opposition wouldn't run away with it and they'd stay in the contest. Seems pretty obvious really.

Hopefully he doesn't do a Cleve and go backwards after a big outing against Port.

I doubt he will, he really wants it. You can see it. His celebration after his 5th showed how much emotion the little guy has. He will be an All-Australian some day if he can get more of the pill to go along with his A+ defensive efforts.

Nup... won't happen.

Cleve had big wraps on him and was U18 Australian CHF was he not? Part of his problem is that he was a more talented teenager who did not have to work hard to do well.
He is yet to show he has overcome this.

Nahas comes from different stock and has never been handed a game or been seen as a lock down future AFL player. He understands the value of hard work.

He is a gem... :thumbsu:

I have it on good authority Bo, that not all of him is tiny. Good luck to the kid. :thumbsu:

How dirty did he look when Moore cleaned him up whilst taking that mark out of his grasp ... had me in stitches.

I thought that was a pisser also. Did he call him a d*#K head after that or did my eyes decieve me?????

Either way I loved it.
