Thats what his value is that he is flashy. Its good to have someone in the team whos willing to take opponents on, sure he might get caught holding the ball occasionaly but I'd rather someone backing himself than just rushing a kick downfield everytime. You've got to have the players who will back themselves in and take a punt, we don't want all the players to be like robots and be predictable the game would become boring.Originally posted by rfctigerarmy
I think that Rodan tries to be too flashy. Sometimes he should just pick up possessions and give it off rather the to bounce the ball 3 times and then make a mistake. Its good to watch him be so quick and all except the best thing for him is to just get rid of the ball more often.
Rodan has a nice kick. Long for such a short guy. I think Rodan is well on the way to becoming a superstar maybe is just a bit overrated and gets too much attention. Its hard not to get attention though when the guy is so quick.
Now that's an each way bet.Originally posted by rfctigerarmy

If you had to compare David Rodan and Gary Ablett Junior, who would you prefer?

someone from another tiger site and who is very well in the know when it comes to the u/18 comp made a very good point about rodan and i must say it looks like he is correct.
rodan the present is exactly what rodan will be in the future. so bassically what we see now is what we got.
its a good and a bad thing.the good is he is ahead of most of his fellow u/18 lads but the bad is this is as good as it gets with him[no room for improvement].
i believe he will be a good player for us but nothing like the build up when he 1st come into the side.
cheers!
