Hi Swannies
I am an author who is writing a book on Rodney Eade which will be released next year. I am a Bulldogs supporter that is how I met Rodney. I have written two other books " Like Father Like Son" on father/son footy combinations and I have written the History of the Footscray District Football League for its 75th anniversary.
I am after any stories of a personal meeting or encounter with Rodney, or anything you think might be relevant.

Good luck with the book.

I love rocket and know how important he was in taking the club the extra step and into a team playing finals regularly and creating a winning culture. However we know Rocket took it hard against our board when he was let go from the swans and has a few personal vendetta's so I’m hoping your book reviews this period with some balance.

Yes it will be a balanced account of the end of his time in Sydney, is there any person apart from the Chairman that you can steer me to who might be able to help in that balance. A Journalist maybe ?

Is your book authorised? Or at least being done with the knowledge and/or co-operation of Eade?

If it is, you should try contacting the Swans directly and ask if there is anyone who would like to contribute. I am sure some of the players would have nice stuff to say about him.

Steve Brassell is the media manager at the club. Or you could go straight to MBH, who generally seems to go out of his way to be helpful (though he wasn't around at the time of Eade).

Im sure if you speak with Mike Sheean he could enlighten you as he has always had a great relationship with the club and also Richard Colless which has given him a very good in at the club for a long time now.He is also pretty friendly with Rocket i reckon,so that might just be the balanced view your looking for.Jim main might also be handy because what he doesent know about the Swans never happened!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.Sydney journos wouldnt be in the know like these two. i am not real sure that too many of the swans players or staff would have too many nice things to say.apparently rodney wasnt a real popular boy.
and i have that from quite a few reliable sources

Yes book is totally authorised and I have spoken to several Seans players, officials and the Chairman but you are always looking at all angles. You never know where you might find a new storyline or a bit of info. Just covering all my bases.

i wonder if the reasons plugger, craig o'brien, schwatter and some others retired will ever come out.

i wonder if coaches have the fabric of the club at the forefront of their minds when they are discarding players willy nilly or if they are coaching to save thier jobs

I know this some hell of a bump but smart Kevin got the book in when it looked like the bulldogs had a messiah coach.

But now the rumblings are coming from the West, the tension between the administration and the coaching staff can be cut with a knife and a trip to the bulldogs board of bigfooty you can even hear the jungle dreams beating.

Eade has been fairly asked to justify his standing as a games top coach and is again falling short despite his squad to deliver a game plan to finish the job, questions are being asked and again it seems same old same old.

Is the mood of the coach again effecting the mood of the club, is it worthy of adding some chapters to the book Kevin, addressing the fact that Eade himself, as talented as he can be is also a destructive force, A contributor to his own demise, not just unjustly turned on at one?
