It's the most meaningless piece of 'language' since "Hi, how are you doing?"

There should be a law that if you aren't actually loling, or rotflmaoing, but you type that anyway, then you receive a savage electical shock and are unable to purchase food and medications for one month.

Other than that, I don't have a problem with it.

True. I have a net friend who always swore she was REALLY loling or rofl when she typed it, I've been with her in person while she chats and guess what - she isn't lying. :p

I use lol, and pmsl (p*ssing myself laughing)

roflmgdfao is one I see a lot, but that one is just silly. :p

I hate them all. It's just lazy.

Why not "I found your post to be mildly amusing, and although I didn't laugh out loud I did have a small inner chuckle."

I agree with that, I mostly use them in messenger, but on forums like this there's more chance to make a proper comment if a post is funny, IMO.

I only use LOL if it really did make me laugh. Or else i just use the simple hehe.

hehe reflects more on how i feel to joke. I might not be LOL but i am hehe inside.

sigh

I use LOL if I HAVE actually laughed out loud, and sometimes I do open a thread and read something and sit here giggling at the computer, which is bad if other people are in the house and just don't see what's so funny about a computer screen. :p

I have a system for msn.

Hehe = is more of a polite laugh.
lol = amusing - like an inside laugh - or else i just use it as a bridge to move on to something else.
haha = makes me laugh.
rofl = my eyes are watery and i can't stop laughing. Must be used sparingly!
