Rohan stood Daniel Wells, who is a very important player for North. Wells was in form and gave Rohan a tough up in the first half. However, he still continues to gain valuable experience by playing on the competition guns and will again learn from this experience. It was unfortunate to see Rohan, who was arguably in the best 5 players for the Demons so far, injured in the second half. Suffering a PCL injury, Rohan looks to be out for four to six weeks, and hopefully will come back from injury with the same form.

Rohan Bail's 2011 Review:
Todd Viney said:
Rohan had an injury-interrupted year. He started the year off as a run-with player and did some really good roles. Unfortunately, he injured his knee against North Melbourne in round eight at Etihad Stadium. He returned to play the last game of the season against Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval. Rohan showed his running skills and his ability to run and carry the ball through the lines.

Rohan wasn't too bad on a day where many players were fairly worse. He played off half-back, and 75% of his disposals were contested which I thought was impressive and he also laid six tackles. He had a good crack and he was effective in doing so, but unfortunately it wasn't one of those days where many Melbourne players were able to make too much of an impact.

It wasn't really Rohan's day, nor was it just about anyone else's, for that matter. He had twelve disposals but at the moment he seems to be following the form of the team, which to be honest is pretty unfortunate, as he's got some real talent to be unleashed yet, but he didn't hit the footy with the same intensity, as shown by the decreased amount of tackles and contested possessions. I'll be looking forward to seeing him play against Richmond, but he's got to impress Mark Neeld first, because with a sub-par performance, his head may be on the chopping block.

Rohan had a really poor day out. He struggled to get his way into the contest or to find space, and when he had the footy he didn't do too much with it. Although it's a bit late to write his report and I can't remember specifics (go me and my reviewing skills and proactive-ness and stuff) I thought he was probably the first candidate to head back to Casey.

Rohan made a big improvement and showed some of the impressive form he'd shown throughout the past two years. He had 19 disposals, 11 of which were contested, and I think he rediscovered the intensity he was probably missing a bit throughout the first three rounds. He tended to start in the forward 50 before the centre bounce and push into the midfield, providing pressure and linking up both ways. He also pushed forward to take a good grab and kick a good goal, which was a great sign. If he can maintain performances like this he's sure to become an important part of the side.

I felt he played much less as a forward than in previous weeks, hence his good form... he showed some good signs up there, but it's not really his natural position IMO. That said I wasn't watching him super-close.

Rohan had a better game than the stats suggest. He only had the 13 disposals which is low for someone rotating through the midfield and his efficiency was okay considering the conditions, but his two goals were very important in keeping us in it and his work off and around the ball was good to watch. He's still going in hard and considering he's more of a run-all-day player, it's good to see he has that element to his game, especially given the wet weather called for it. Still very pleased with my choice to get the 44 on the back of my 2012 jumper. :thumbsu:

Needs a bit on work on his tackling, gave a couple of soft ones away by holding on too long.

If he can keep bobbing up with a couple of goals a week though, more than earns his spot.

Good reason why I (think I) am the only person who actually got the 44 on the back of their Demons jumper.

Well, that was a complete turnaround. Rohan played on Kade Simpson which was the right match-up given his endurance and played a fantastic game, creating run and drive - enough to record eight inside 50s, an equal game-high - whilst performing well defensively. He was comfortably in our best and mostly used the footy to our advantage.

But the report wouldn't be complete without a Neeld face, so I think it's deserved that he gets the faintest of smiles from the main man:

Even when he performs poorly, you cannot question his work ethic (unlike Sylvia, Dunn et all). At this point in time, thats a trait I like.

He's back to the standard he set earlier in the year. Very low. Regardless of whether there may have been lingering effects from his head knock, to rack up only nine touches is well below expectations when you consider what we've seen from him. That's the typical sort of performance that would see you dropped, and while I still like the guy and think he has a lot to offer, it's hard to stay in the side with a well-below-par performance.

I think we are taking away his strengths of speed and stamina by playing him as a small forward... blease i understand at the moment but we are lacking spread in the middle and he's shown a good ability as a tagger who is damaging the other way: get him back in there neeld
