CARLTON
Pre-season selections: Nil
Rookie selections: 6 (15, 31, 44, 56, 66, 73)
Locked in: Zach Tuohy - international
Needs: Expect the Blues to nab at least one tall forward, after they traded Brendan Fevola to the Lions and opted for mid-sized players in the NAB AFL Draft. A taller midfielder around the 190cm mark would also be useful.
In their sights: Carlton has already claimed Irishman Tuohy, leaving five live selections. Former Crow Aaron Kite was training with the club, while key forward Matthew Panos could come into play, if available. Another South Australian - mature SANFL forward/defender Michael Coad - has also been linked with the Blues.

Interesting about Michael Coad, does anyone know anything about him.

does anyone know the difference between an International Scholarship holder and an international rookie?

Please excuse my ignorance but what is the difference between a pre season selection and rookie selection? For example is someone like Russell Robertson available only in the pre season?

Id love to see him up and flying. :thumbsu:

I wonder if he can box? May be our next Barry Hall.

Hopefully. He has a few strings to his bow. Just hope other teams haven't caught wind of him.

Whoever nabs him, Kite is a good prospect in a draft.

He'd be the perfect fit to play on Benjamin or Franklin. This guy could really hold the key to our defense.

Assuming a horses for courses approach to selection he probably won't get a run when the roof is closed at Etihad.

Nah, he can't play basketball. He has to bend down too low to put the ball through the hoop.

Apparently he's no good at ground level.

A golf clap for both of you.

Kits has looked pretty good out on the training track, and if I was a betting man, I reckon it'd be even money as to whether he gets a spot on our rookie list.
I think he might go to the Tigers. I understand Brendon Gale has made him an offer he can't refuse.

I too have heard this, but I have also heard that Gale was far too strong and the offer, albeit a very good one blew him away to the point where he was no longer interested. He is tied down the the CFC now :thumbsu:

Kite is no longer on the 'Permission to Train' List. I don't know what that may mean, but I don't think it would increase his chance of being drafted by us.

It also bothers me that the 3 Geelong Falcons lads were not on the list.
If we're playing funny buggers, it might me a bit late. Even the Geelong Advertiser was in on us inviting the lads to train. [It didn't say whether they'd said Yes, but it would be pretty strange if they'd said No.]
