Not that it really concerns us, but there is an article on the HUN saying that St Kilda plan on selecting ex-Demon rookie Danny Hughes in the rookie draft.

Nicholson and Johnston trained with us last year and got selected but Evans and Lawrence didn't train with us.

Jordie McKenzie was training with us before he got picked up. Tom Rockliff was as well but Brisbane got him.

I'd say all the guys training with us have an advantage in getting picked up by us but it's not definite. We might end up filling 2 or 3 spots out of 4 with the guys training with us.

I find that hard to believe. Why would you waste the resources on someone you weren't interested in? The only reason would be to try and send out a smokescreen so you get the guy you do want through, but I doubt its worth the effort.

I think its sometimes a decoy, sometimes they might want a particular type to assist in the preseason (Couch being very fit for example), and sometimes just legitimately helping out kids who are trying to get a go.

Obviously we have taken a few as well though.

Barry Prendergast has said that we had a choice at pick 52 (not including Sellar) and we went with Josh Tynan.

Given the plan was always to take Sellar at 54, yet we decided to huddle up and discuss it - we must have been pretty keen on this other kid as well.

Has anyone heard/got an idea who the other player we liked was - and whether or not he was taken by someone else - or is still available in the rookie draft?

Now now Mrs Clutterbuck, we weren't implying that your son is a gambling addict, so calm down.

The only thing that worries/excites me is that he resembles Juice Newton a little bit facially.

Looks like we've added Leigh Williams to the permission to train list.

Don't know much about him other than that he's a forward playing EFL division 1 for Norwood.

Yes we chose Jurrah in the PSD but we could have selected Rockliff in the ND instead of say Jetta. Rockliff on TAC Future Stars said the MFC was only going to rookie him.

Waldhuter was a huge shock to me but im tipping port will take him as a rookie. There's probably question marks over his pace.

I seriously think we should consider Jackson Coleman, big lad with a massive tank, can play at both ends of the ground. I seen him a few times at TAC cup level and i was impressed with what i saw. Needs some development especially with his kicking but worth the punt.

If we want a small forward we should probably look at the likes of Tim Totevski and Seb Gotch. Seb was probably the best small forward in the TAC cup this year.

I reckon we lack some aggressive back pocket types and should consider Jack Charleston who has some real grunt about him. He can read the play well and just has a willingness to win his own ball.
