Roo has a holiday house in orford and spent time there so he's claimed to be as much of a Tassie Boy as he was a GC boy

In some ways it would be bizzare for these Rookies.

A lot of the kids in the draft, know they will probably be selected and some of them even have a pretty good idea where they would be going. They are mentally prepared to move away from home well before the draft.

Then you get guys like this who dont expect it. He wouldn't be able to be mentally prepared, ( he would get shit stirred too much if he had packed his bags the day before and didn't get selected). Suddenly his career is professional footballer.
He flies interstate, then away for a week with the team, presumably back home for Christmas then a permanant move to Melbourne.

You would be in a spin!

He wasn't sure he'd be drafted - but he had been told St Kilda were interested. He wasn't in that much of a spin.
