As we know, Rama is having treatment now (Get well soon!)

Let's say there was a chance his recovery was delayed and he might miss the first 8 - 9 weeks of the season.

Are we allowed to start the season with him on the long term injury list and one of our rookies elevated, and place the elevated rookie back on the rookie list once Rama comes back?

Because of our full list, this may be a viable alternative which would allow us to keep one extra player on our overall list, albeit a rookie, considering our burgeoning list.

Who should the rookie be? Haynes? Johns? Hall? I think Haynes and Johns should be elevated, but the club might not necessarily promote both of them...

Not sure exactly, but I would think that if we place him on the long term injury list then we are allowed to promote a rookie.

I believe it is correct. I believe i heard you are able to elevate a player if a senior player is added to the long term injury list.

Not 100% sure although.

I think that haynes and johns are already on our senior list.

Yes, along with Ken Hall. All three were promoted because Reynolds, Bannister, and Ramanauskas were all put in the long-term injury list.

But we have to make a decision whether to promote them permanently. Haynes is a certainty, Johns is likely. Not sure about Hall. I don't think he's eligible to be a rookie listed player again.

i do believe that johns is going to be on the senior list for 2004 - bit of inside info. he better be anyway. don't know about the other 2

Sheedy is well aware that we struggle across half forward, he mentioned that he feels Hird is carrying too much of a load and he wants to move Lloyd to CHF. He mentioned that Johns would be the likely candidate to play from the goalsquare. We didn't see it this season, but we'll likely see it during the pre-season competition.

Ramma will be right to go round 1. He has finished his treatment.

Robert Shaw said that he believed Rama's treatment was going very well. Whether that means he'll be available right from the beginning of the H&A season, we'll have to wait and see, I think. But if he is going to be ready, he'll need to put in a good pre-season.

Haynes and Johns are ABSOLUTELY GUARANTEED of being picked up onto the senior list for 2004.

And they would need to be put on the senior list before the rookie draft happens, as I believe all rookie listed players go back into the rookie draft regardless of whether they have played AFL or not. I reckon we'd lose Haynes for sure if he had to go back into the rookie draft.
