Rookie's Day

Did anyone here go to Rookie's Day? I was there. I thought it was a pretty good day - it's always good to be able to put our thoughts forward.

Was OK. The first speaker was Craig Perrett from the board. He was talking a bit about the club and the direction it's going in. Craig Cameron spoke about the draft and how talent is identified. Tom Noble (an American bloke from the AFL - LOL) spoke about the AFL and what people our age expect. We got to ask questions to all of those speakers.

A bit of lunch was next. CFH then your favourite player spoke - Steven Armstrong. Lucky you weren't there cos you probably would've picked up the tomato sauce squeezer they had at lunch and got him. Brad Miller and Nick Walsh also spoke. Then we had a brainstorm session where we had our ideas on what we want in membership - both general footy and the rookie deal for our age group. Ideas like rookie functions, rookie seating areas so you could meet and sit with people of our age group were thrown up.

That's a quick summary on the day. Overall it was good. Now the club just need to take on board what we all said - the success of the day depends on that really.

LOL, I probably would have! I reckon most of those young girls would have jumped on me straight away to beat me up.

Glad it was a good day though, I must get more involved in that somehow!

Would have liked to gone, but other things came up. However I thought it was a very good idea and hopefully some good initiatives come out of it.
