This may have been asked already but who are the nominated rookies for the season? Would be great to see Garlett get some games in the regular season- he looks like a real prospect.

There have been no announcements yet. I'm not sure if there is a particular timeframe by which decisions must be locked in, or whether clubs just elevate rookies at their discretion as needs dictate. The latter I think. There has been a suggestion that Pfeiffer was 'promised' one of the two initial spots. Agree Garlett looks good but if the Pfeiffer deal is true, and we might need Jacobs to cover until Warnock is back, then he might miss out. On form I'd take Garlett and Jacobs, with Bentley not far behind.

Nothing has been officially announced as of yet, but it will be very interesting if we do decide to nominate 2 rookies, and if we do, who they will be.

This preseason a few rookies have put in some good performances and are really pushing for a nominated rookie spot.

Garlett has only played about 1 game in total but as we have seen, he's all class. He's fast, he's skillful and he's very exciting. He'd provide a bit of a spark out of a forward pocket, and he'd be able to push into the miiddle for short stints.

Jacobs has shown that he can be very competitive in the ruck. He's been our number 1 ruckman this preseason and has performed extremely well. He was the best ruckman on the ground against the Kangaroos, and followed up with a very good performance against Hawthorn. He is also showing improvement in the part of his game he was most criticized for - inability to get to contests around the ground.

Bentley, well, not many of you like him but as I've said a few times, I don't mind him. Strong body and knows how to use it, can find the ball, and I don't think his disposal is as bad as many make it out to be. Would be a handy backup in case of injury.

Joseph hasn't got the attention of some of the others, but for mine, has been just as impressive. He's being used as a tagger and in both games thus far, he has done a very good job. He's a tough little customer that isn't afraid of throwing his body around and doing the rough stuff.

We haven't seen enough of Ellard, Hill and Stanton this preseason to think they are much of a chance of being a nominated rookie.

As for Pfeiffer, we know what he can do, after seeing him last year a few times. Rumour has it that he had been promised a nominated rookie spot when he was delisted then put on the rookie list, but I hope that isn't true. He hasn't been nearly as impressive in his performances as some of the other rookies, and performance is what this should be based on.

Personally, I'd give it to Jacobs and Joseph.

Jacobs has been the wildcard this preseason, we probably didn't need Warnock in the end. If he becomes a regular this season then i don't see a spot for Hampson either. Although he has shown glimpses of becoming a handy forward.

Jacobs and Garlett. These are the two that could add something to our list. Bentley has been pretty good but doesn't add anything that we don't already have on our list. Joseph had done some pretty good taggging jobs but doesn't do enough around ground to earn a spot.
