Ross Gibbs himself, beleives Bryce will stay with the Blues forever;

"Wherever he goes, I reckon he'll stay there forever. There's not an issue there. A lot of people have made this innuendo that he's going to come back and he wants to play with Adelaide, but I think once he leaves in the next few weeks I think that's the end of it."

"But it's what he wants to do so we'll let him go and do that and hopefully it all works out. I think he's going to be in for a rude shock early but it's all about growing up.

"He's only a baby still, but once he gets through that initial homesickness and whatever, I'm sure he'll be OK. He basically walks into a club with 50 mates straight away. They'll look after him."

Great Stuff :thumbsu:

Appologies - didn't know there was already a thread on this.

I find it interesting that they quote Sticks as saying 'I hope he ends up at Carlton'. Given that I'm pretty sure the decision of who we are going to pick has already been made, that must mean that it is a sure thing. At any rate, fantastic to hear Ross come out and give his full support behind his son and the club he gets picked for.

Oh, and Adelaide suppoerters can kiss my arse.

It is like Christmas will come one month early, Nov 25!
Great news to hear, and i hope that all the hype surrounding Gibbs will pay off, and he will have as great 1st year as Murphy.

Do you think the quote from Kernahan suggests there is a dispute over who we should pick or do you think it is a very big hint that we will be picking Gibbs?

It suggests that Wayne Hughes makes the decisions, but Sticks wouldn't have brought it up unless he was confident that Hughes had already penciled Gibbs in.

Exactly. Great news to hear his father come out and say that, can't wait to see Gibbs in a Blues jumper next season:D .

What have we done so that we have to "kiss your ass"? We did nothing. Who cares about Bryce Gibbs. If Bryce was only worth around say pick 50 then the AFL would've changed the rules so F/S rule would be WAY fairer. It is just stupid that the rules are bent in favour to Victorian clubs. We don't care about Bryce Gibbs. We want the rules to be changed. The current rules have us taking 40 year olds. I confident we can find other good prospects out there... GIbbs is not king and he might not be the best draftee to come out of the 2006 draft anyway. Anyway good luck to him at Carlton anway and hope he has a good career:thumbsu:.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
You dont care about Gibbs?????
The dozens of threads started by you folk indicate otherwise, as does your diatribe here. If you didnt care about Carlton's (or Essendon's) Bryce Gibbs then you wouldnt be on our board whinging about the rules....AGAIN.

Nope. We don't care about GIbbs. He's gone to another club. I trust our recruiting staff and I believe we can draft another bloke with our picks as good if not better than Bryce GIbbs. Gibbs is a wonderful prospect. Theres another bit to it though. Development. If your club doesn't develop and doesn't have the facilities/coaches he will go no where. WCE are very good at DEVELOPMENT. Even if they have had lowish draft picks they have picked up some very useful players. And where are the dozen threads now? Gibbs is not king. He has still a LONG LONG way to go to be called a "star". He hasn't even played 1 AFL match. Anything can happen. Could he be a Luke Hodge where he lives in CHris Judd's shadow? Gibbs has all the potential in the world. Lets see if he uses it all and lets see if your football club develops him to full potential. Development in a player is very important.

Just like the AFL changed the rules so that we wouldnt get the 1st round priority this year...

So? They didn't know who was gonig to finish last anyway. If you guys won more games you wouldn't have gotten mroe Priority picks. WCE don't need priority picks to become good. They just develop players correctly. THey might not pick the most talented players but the develop them to full potential. Sydney don't need Priority picks. THey don't even have the best list... They play like a team though. They are a very very tight unit. THe difference between WCE and Sydney winning this year is that- WCE are a very talented players + they play like a champion team as well. Sydney don't have the most talented players but make up for it by being a VERY VERY Good Team of Champions. If you had Paul Roos as coach, I'm sure your team would've finished much better than last. He just bonds the team so well and they work for each other well. Bryce GIbbs won't change the Blues. If you guys work hard and work together you will play finals next season even if you don't have the best list gonig around.

Bit rich an Adelaide supporter talking about Sydney and West Coast developing players correctly, when your mob doesnt have the mental stability to make it to the GF, unlike them. How about you hire a shrink, and THEN come back on our board???

Sydney have a dual Brownlow medallist in Goodes, the silky Davis and AA players such as Bolton, O'Keefe, Hall, etc. leading their side to a flag last year. The Eagles and Saints drafted guns in Judd, Riewoldt and Ball with priority to rebuild their sides and they landed players such as Koschitzke, Sampi and Clarke with the extra pick.

The only flags you've won are as a result of the ridiculous player concessions your received when you entered the competition and you landed your stars that way. The Crows deserve a huge asterisk next to those flags and it's amazing some of your supporters have the temerity to accuse us of buying flags and being cheats. These concessions are the reason the AFL didn't give the Dockers the identical concessions they gave to Port, Adelaide and the Eagles when joined a decent football league. :)

Zero flags for the Dockers. ;)

What a load of rubbish Cypher. The AFC joined the comp with very average concessions because the club (SANFL) had a gun being held to its head.....join with what we've got on the table, or else we let Port in. You may want to have a look at how few players from our initial couple of years in the comp actually played in our two flags, before you go trying to re-write history.
